Four year olds are a-sposta yell, it's what they do!

Yea, the Obenauf's helps cut break-in time to boot! (Pun intended.) :surprise:

Just a heads up...
Looks like 710 is having a blowout sale on his production Topper's.

I just beat on the one that's been going around today. Pretty nice blade.

I just checked the price, $60. That's a good buy.

I like it pretty good too.
Knife and custom sheath is on sale for $60 right now. Helluva deal!

This is a beer from one of the local breweries.....

I kind of like the graphic. :D

You are so right.

I have an idea, but not sure I can get it drawn this evening.

Id like to see it when you have the time!

Yep. Just like D.

I wonder if a local machine shop would make you a single one at a price that wasn't insane - especially if you just need them to do the opener part on a piece of steel without the rest.

I cut a few out of cardboard and had to make some revisions to get the bottle openers to look functional when tested on a bottle... Still its just cardboard and wouldnt open the bottle... Ill prolly try and just cut the bottom shape out of tin... I have some around here and that might give me enough idea if the bottle opener will work well.

I vote B -- and make the top hex 5/16" which is also a fairly standard size for hex bits.

B is winning... But a little different....

Why not keep the original design and open up the bottom section of the beard? Flatten out the heal of the bit on the underside to keep it a little thicker to lift the caps. Then move the finger groove on the belly of the handle down a little bit. This way you get to keep both of your hex's.

Id really rather not have the beard or blade as part of the opener.

After some more thinking and playing around i decided it would be better on the bottom.... Keep the top and blade the same and not part of the opener, this way if its sheathed the opener still works safely. And this way making the sheaths are easier as well. The same sheath design from before would work except this time i will be going 1/8" instead of .156" i think.... Just because i have 4 feet of 1/8" 52100 sitting here.

OK so here we are now.....

The third one. Still have the 1/4" hex towards the bottom, that could also be used as a keychain hole. And it looks like it will open bottles wonderfully. Cut out of cardboard, everything lines up great...

It makes the overall design less than a half inch longer than originally. And the bottom is a tad wider too. Thats cool with me. The bottom point would be nice for opening some boxes without having to unsheath the actual blade. But could also poke you in your pocket, could rip your pocket maybe..... Hmmm...... Well dont put it in your pocket LMAO!!

I guess I could chisel grind the side of the opener and make it like a military style can opener.... Yea im NOT doing that.... HA.

Anyway... Been busy and have had issues posting on the forum but im still working this.... And will likely be making ones very similar to the 3rd one in the picture above. Soon'ish?...

Oh full disclosure.... If not obvious.... The bottom of the middle one has the "BK11 opener" traced onto it. It helped me figure out how much space between the prying tip and the leverage area.

I think the middle one looks better, but the cutting edge would be aimed at the arteries on the inside of your wrist (when using the opening in the axe head, not talking about the bk11 opener in the handle) . Especially after opening a few beers with that little axe, things might get dangerous. The right one looks less good, but seems to be a lot more practical and safe as well.

Or... I might be mistaken and imagining holding that design in a completely retarded way. I could at least see myself struggling with it, lol.

What's up, Mr WW?!? Been a long time, glad to see you are still kicking.. how is Florida treating you?

Eh? I've been here all along :p

I'm fine, quite fine. Looking to buy some property with the girlfriend. Haven't really found anything that we like yet. I mezn, what I like yet. She's happy with a lot less than I am. That's probably why she's dating me lol.

I hadn't been on the forums in quite a while, glad to see you are still frequenting. Found any good fossils lately? Is the chat room still up? I think I lost the address for it..

Lost that address too, not sure if there still were many visitors.
Been visiting some nice quarries and temporary exposures. Especially the month of May was pretty successful. Found some good stuff back then. Since then I've been out and about, but not with much success. Finds were few and far in between. Here are some good ones from May

What have you been up to, and how are you doin'?

Hey Woody, could you make that upper part of the opener come to a flat instead of a point? Could save a person from stabbing their thigh when it's in their pocket if they sit down. Other than that, looks badass!
