SWMBO says you suck.
if you're going to talk about a puppy, you have to show a picture of it.

Good looking pup. Should be lots of fun.

Soap Box Moment -

In looking up the breed, all the adult pictures show the ears as being cropped. For show dogs I guess, although I have never understood the practice. Cutting off part of a dog's ears for some appearance criteria has always struck me as both unnecessary and cruel. Same with docking tails.

They say for certain breeds it can be beneficial. I think it's mostly for looks but some breeders say it helps reduce ear infections. I was also told this breed has a very high pain tolerance except the ears are sensitive, so i have read one article that says for safety reasons if you have small children it's best to crop the ears so the child doesn't pull on them.

I say train the child and the dog.

This guy won't be getting his ears cut but i do think certain breeds look better cut... They definitely look more aggressive cut...

But if someone lets big floppy ears blind them to sharp teeth i can't help em lol.

I told the wife all 3 dogs will have their own job to do... The new dog will make sure nobody makes it to the door... Neko will let us know if they make it past the new dog to the door... and Leo can show us the best place to hide if they get in.

I named Leo after Leonidas.. Thinking he'd be big and confident, a good property guard dog... Turns out he is 40 pounds of a licking lovable softy...

So I'm thinking I may call the new dog Wimp.

All my dogs would have ironic names... Neko means cat... Japanese dog named cat. Leonidas the snuggle king...and Wimp...

Yep i got me a corso. I been reading up on dogs for months. Since before i got Leo... I knew i wanted a mastiff... Found Leo who was suppose to be half mastiff and he actually needed a home... Turns out he is prolly 1/10th mastiff and doesn't care for being outside with me longer than 30 minutes. He Will still be loved.. But he is more the kids dog than mine... So i kept looking and reading to find the right dog for me that enjoys being outside with me... As i don't spend much time inside.

I narrowed down to the breeds Dogo Argentina, African Boerboel, and Cane Corso... 3 of the more athletic large breeds... The Dogo was eliminated for being white... I know racist... Dogos are beautiful dogs but white isn't my preference on a dog...

The Cane Corso and Boerboel both had me pretty intrigued... I was able to find breeders for both within a 4 hour drive and spent time watching videos and reading up on both breeds...

I Think i would have been equally happy with the corso or boerboel. But most corsos seem to like swimming and playing in water and the blue/grey colors in the corsos also interested me more than the yellow/black on the Boerboel. Leo already has these colors... The blue brindle boy will stand out from the other 2 dogs.

Fishing... I need to go!! But my favorite creek is completely flooded.. I can kayak all through it But fishing is never great when it's flooded... The fish can get plenty food and are spread out everywhere... Once the water drops a bit they Will be back in them holes and I'll be back tearing them up!!

Agree to both.

Lots of people mistake our Great Dane for a giant lab lol. Her ears are so floppy and soft, I couldn't imagine snipping them for aesthetics. My youngest would be super happy if we docked her tail... would save him from getting whipped in the face so much, but that's not going to happen.

"I went to a zoo once, but every enclosure was empty except one that just had a dog in it.

it was a Shih Tzu. "

DTE plus Hopback Amber is a pretty good blend, gotta admit.
Also, I really like this 7. Haven't put it to use at all, but it speaks to me.

Are you circumcised? How about you son?

There are about the same amount of reasons, health vs appearance, to circumcision as ear cropping in certain dog breeds.

Lots of breeds were created by man. Look at wolves and the ancient dog breeds, notice their ears.

There are many many sites online that fully explain cropping and the reasons it is acceptable.. But just like circumcision it comes down to preference of the parents.

I got my son circumcised. Not for religious purposes... More so he doesn't feel different and its easier to keep clean and prevent infections... I wouldn't judge a person for cropping his dogs ears for that same reason... Just like i wouldn't judge a parent for not circumcising their son because they feel it's more natural or whatever other reason they have...

True, like everything it's a choice (with the exception of medical reasons). If there is no medical reason for it, I'd just rather not cause the dog any needless pain :D

Ya, I'm totally a helmet and my son's are hoods. It's just something that the wife and I talked about and saw no reason to get done. Again choice :D
