Snark Yurty to me

Yeah I can barely get into a pseudo-jog for short periods but I alternate between that and walking. Went a little over 3 miles today. On the treadmill 30-second intervals are about right for me but when I'm outside I just go with what I feel like. The route I did has some pretty good grades so on the long downhill stretch I can jog for a ways.

Hopefully next time I do a chopping video I can go more than 10 swings without getting winded and people will stop commenting on how they're worried I'm gonna keel over. :D

Catching up on snark...

Coke wins over Pepsi... only because rum tastes better in it.

Mayo or not to mayo... it depends on what its going on. I agree with Gshark if no mayo real butter = win.

Grats on the place and the cast being removed psyop

Nice axe bladite! I picked up a nice axe a few weeks ago when I was on vacation :D Have been working on it bit by bit. It was my wife's great grandfathers. I was using it to demo the deck on the back of their cottage. Was working fine until my wife's uncle sunk it into a 4x4 post and decided to wiggle it back and forth instead of up and down. Broke the head off the haft (duh its like 100 years old). Instead of buying a new haft, they just got a cheep p.o.s replacement axe and told me I could keep the 'broken old one' lol suckers. This piece is gold! All the markings have been rusted off, and it has a few pits that are a few mm deep, but I've cleaned off the majority of the rust and put the head on a new handle. I could swear that its almost pure iron. I haven't weighted the head on a scale, but its easily close to 10lbs lol. First swing I took with it on an old cedar sunk it 4 inches into a 5 inch tree. Me likey

Hoss! that's awesome brother! I wanted to be able to run as well. I've been trying to keep up the Beckerhead Spartan fitness thread. Come on over and log your progress! I don't bother with the watches or gizmos. I let Pokemon Go track how many KM I do! (kidding; but I have ran over 147km since I've started playing). I have 4 different running routes, each of them I've mapped out with google maps to get the distance first, then I go out and jog it. Just like JD said, at the beginning I could only run for a block at a time. I would be able to do about 2min on, 5min walking, 2 min running, ect. I've been at it since October of last year, the other day I ran two of my routes (10km) back to back because my son wanted to play Pokemon (seriously this time). Between jogging and doing body weight exercises I've dropped from 226lbs to 190lbs. I go up and down because of my crappy eating habits, but my ultimate goal is 180lbs. If you want some good material or idea's for fitness, look back at some of crimsonfalcon's Spartan threads from October last year.

TBL, I've noticed that if I run a huge calorie deficit then if I cheat on my diet much at all I'll put weight back on overnight. Right now I'm just trying to be aware of what I'm eating but not really tracking it right now, seems to be working a little better for me. I can occasionally eat bad stuff and I don't hold onto it. Eventually I'll have to get stricter but I can ease into it.

I had the same problem. I was going to the extreme with my portion control. I found that my energy levels were too low. I wasn't eating enough to give me the energy to get up and go. I found that if I just focused on eating stuff that didn't come pre-made or in a box; I did well. Now if I'm ever hungry after eating, I'll just munch away on veggies or have another salad. It sucks, but it keeps me feeling good.

If you want to track calories, MyFitnessPal is the way to go. I lost about 60 pounds on it a few years back.
You have to eat, and MyFitnessPal tells you when you have not eaten enough in a given day. Chipping away at the calories is the ticket, not a sudden boycott.
A good way to incentivize the running is to go ahead and register for a race. Give yourself plenty of time and do the 9-week Couch to 5K program. You'll surprise yourself.

Throw everything white or beige off your plate, including soda (why is your food swimming in cola anyway?). There's so much delicious food out there that isn't sweet as its base flavor.

Eat quality fat (that includes mayo made with proper olive oil). You'll eat less naturally. Low-fat food is poison.

Excellent use of allay'all's GSOM. Many Northerners struggle with the plural possessive.

¡Gracias! Yo hablo Español, tan bien......plus I can read and write in Southern, though I wouldn't claim fluency in either.

So....it's a double bit axe?

seriously impressed with the Husky axe. needed about five minutes of gentle stoning and brining up the factory edge... boo yeah. massive face relative and good weight... it's like an old school feller or something, not quite a racing axe.

get some :D

This is exactly how C25K works. You start with walking and integrate intervals of jogging. It's a progressive build toward running 3 miles.

Might have to check that out. I'm not planning on getting into running, I just need to pass a fitness test for work (or for a future job in the same field) and also just generally get in shape. Personally, I prefer to crank the treadmill up to 15% incline and go at a slower pace but that's only an option at work. I should probably join a gym, maybe get a personal trainer and all that but it's still early in the process.

You've never filled a bowl with candy and soda and eaten like cereal? #BreakfastOfChampions If I can't trust medical advice from strangers on the internet, then how am I supposed to learn anything?

A bag of dark chocolate chips and half-and-half, sure. That's how I make milk chocolate. :D
Most candy is low fat, so it doesn't make the cut for my cereal. Heheh.
