Nothing but the Best to all these rascals with dental stuff goin' on. Hang in there, you'll be OK.

The aggravating part is that we know he knows what to do, he is just an A-hole LOL.....

Angie sez the same about me.

:D

In other news, please let me ask y'all for a kind wish or prayer... it's not life-threatening, but Ang is currently dealing with a pretty serious injury to her leg, and it will probably require a good deal of time and patience to get fixed/heal up right. Do us a favor and think a happy thought for her, wouldja?

Thanks, cats and kittens. :)

Prayers for Angie and a quick recovery.

Yeah, really!! On the other hand, I'm disappointed no one commented on my spork...

Let me know if it actually works worth a flip. I gave my boys each one as a stocking stuffer last Christmas. So far they have only been used for gathering dust.

I may have to go confiscate one and try it out myself.

Just got my wisdoms teeth out, not that bad at all

OH just try and avoid a dry socket. Cause that will ruin your day something fierce. I had all of mine pulled at once by a sadistic dentist who not only listened to a brave and stupid teenage boy who said "oh just get them all I'll be fine" but also just used a couple numbing shots. She was maybe only 5 foot tall but it was pretty disheartening when she would stand up with one foot on the bottom of the dentist chair leaning over me ready to yank a tooth out of my face. Swear it felt like she was going to rip my entire jaw off, she was nice enough to stitch the gaps up for me though. Went back to work that day and could barely even mumble. That is one experience I will not forget. :D

Sounds like a girl I dated for several months... twice. Wait, what?

James, I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, very little down time, and minimal pain.

Doc

Just got my wisdoms teeth out, not that bad at all

i recant my earlier statement

This is not a surprise.

I had all of mine taken out by an oral surgeon when I was about 14 or so. I had braces and the work was nearly done when those pesky wisdom teeth started pushing things around and the orthodontist wanted them out before they even broke the skin. So the surgeon had to dig them out. I was out thanks to some sort of happy gas, and woke up in another room in mid-sentence with one of the nurses or technicians. She told me to go ahead and finish my story, but I had no idea what story I was telling... That was some good stuff!

The bad part was the next morning when I woke up. Apparently one of the sutures had torn while I was asleep and blood had slowly leaked out all night and formed a sort of congealed mess that resembled red spaghetti on my pillow, on my face, and in my hair. It was Sunday morning, so my Dad had to call the oral surgeon's emergency line and them met us at the office to restitch it.

Yours probably isn't going to beat this... at least I hope not.

Since we're on wisdom teeth stories, I'll drop mine in here. I went into the dentist back when I was about 17 and the dentist asked if my jaws hurt at all, because I didn't have any sign of wisdom teeth coming in and I said "Nope, no pain." six months later I went back for another checkup. All 4 wisdom teeth were in and I never knew it.

Fast-forward to 1985. Navy officer at Kelly AFB in San Antonio - Check up revealed a cavity in between one of the wisdom teeth and the 2nd molar that couldn't be patched up. The doc said it would have to come out and I said "well, if you gotta pull 1, pull'em all. I'm not gonna do this 4x."

A week later, went in and the dentist gave me a few shots and started pulling. 5 minutes later 3 were out and he spent 10 minutes pulling the one that xrays had showed had a crooked root. Took a pain pill before the novacain wore off and went home and went to bed. woke up 8 hours later, took another pill (the last one I took) and went back to bed. Went to work the next day, with no problems and at lunch was eating chips and salsa, and enchiladas, albeit only chewing small bites with my incisors. :D

My sisters on the other hand, were down for the count for a week each, with busted stitches, dry sockets, the works, popping pills like they were gummi bears.

I had my wisdom teeth cut out at age 13 - this is where I found out I'm relatively immune to - or metabolize stupid fast - the most common anesthetics. they hit me with a double dose of IV demerol plus pentathol and gas before I dozed off, and I woke up 20 min later while the oral surgeon was breaking out the last one. the next day i found out codeine doesn't work, either.
the summer of 86, a Navy dentist told me that at some point I need to get that wisdom tooth cut out -- my current dentist has also warned me a couple times of the same thing -- so either I had an extra tooth, they left enough of a growth bud that one grew bck, or the oral surgeon got second hand stoned off my meds and took the wrong tooth. (considering my mom always called me a smart-mouth, I vote for choice a or b)

on the plus side, peanut butter mixes well with vanilla bean ice cream and cherry pie filling as a shake -- and doesn't hurt to swallow when you can't chew...
