Well now ya tell me...I just picked this up today. For the past 2 years the world has been trying to stop me from getting a Jeep. Just when I thought I won....I went to pick it up last night, tore it all down and was ready to hit the road(about an hour from my house) ...wrong key, then they could find it. Foiled again!!!
Well, they dropped it off at work today, if I ever make it back to the office, I'm finally gonna get it home!

congrats on the new toy - I supposed this would be a bad time to mention Todd has a 2006 model he's seriously thinking of shedding?

I have an app that automatically wipes waffle fetish pics.

Good news and Bad news.

Good news: At the end of summer I will be moving cross country for good. And since I have to pack up my entire house I will, hopefully, find the 4 or 5 knives that have disappeared (I know they are somewhere in the house).

Bad news: I won't be able to participate in BeckerWest. Also, my wife doesn't know it yet, but I'm not leaving until those knives are located. :D

Wow. Just wow. That has made my jaw slacken at how cool that footage is and how cool that job must be. Conversely, it has also made me think of how dull my life and job are :(

Yeah, me too. Oh to be a "data engineer" - sailing the ocean.

Thanks guys! Yeah, she's 3yrs away...when you daughter says "why would anyone not want to learn how to drive a stick? I want to do that before an automatic"... Ya gotta let her give it a go. So, yeah WW, I'm a sucker and I'm sure she will

Let's hope she doesn't test out the roll bar....my daughter is a year or two away from driving, but she hasn't shown a whole lot of interest yet. I'm sure she'll do fine; we have a stick Jetta TDI and I've gotten her to shift it a few time for me while I was driving it....maybe it's a good thing that she's a little (ok, maybe more than a little) afraid of driving? Pretty responsible young lady. My youngest, OTOH, I fear for my life with that one.

Thanks guys. I doubt Todd would finance his lol.
The saleslady was super cool and brought me out back on some new arrival older stuff. The second i saw it, then sat in it, i got a great vibe. Dirty and taped up top, lived in interior, i didnt care. 73k miles, not bad. They were gonna strip it down to stock. I told them if they do I'll dig that rack out of the dumpster! It was all dirty, hadn't even been gone thru yet. We made a great deal then they say it's getting a new top, tailgate, and tires! Gonna strap on the kayaks Saturday, can't wait. Been waiting a long time for this ride. Totally splurged and it was now or never so I said now.
I just turned 41, my daughters growing way too fast, no amount of money can get me back the next few years once they're gone so we're gonna make some memories.

WW, I was catching up on snark and was thinking just hang them on the wall until they speak to you. It'll prob be one night around midnight and you'll get to bed around 3:30 mind still racing with ideas and plans on finishing what you started.
Plus they'll still look great until you get to it.

BUT....you will be able to participate at Ethan's or the Northeast Gathering. We have fun here, too, you know.....and you don't have to "pack in, pack out" at trailbum's. When is the move purportedly taking place?

GSOM, I hear ya. She's not really a wild child, more like confident but not overly. She likes to try new stuff and isn't afraid to work at it or get her hands dirty. Hope to have her fully driving in the next couple of years. Plenty of area to learn around here. I used to drive to the store and get my dad cigarettes and me candy when I was 9 haha.

That's great. No, not bad at all! The interior sounds perfect for a Jeep. You don't want to be afraid of taking the top off, taking it out and using it!

Damn.... I miss my Jeeps. (Don't worry. They have not been sold off. One is in pieces and the other is just sitting. Both are in storage out at my parent's place)

What about French toast?

Why the......

Never mind, I forgot, it's better not to ask.
Don't worry. I'm sure Biscuit will PM you the links if you ask nicely.

Truth, dont ever back into a parking spot in Florida. The police dont like it (or maybe its because im Canadian :D). Mainly because they only have them on the rear there and they think you be hiding something.

Glad to hear you're doing good Gus! What is the weight limit on that wall? Would my large behind be able to climb it?

Plenty strong. Come over and check it out!

They cleaned it up about half ass, I gave it a real good cleaning tonight and it almost looks new. Then I took it on some light trails at a friends place to test out the 4wd and just to play. Yeah, this will not be a pretty princess but I'll try to keep it up better than I have most of my previous rides which have basically been $1000 cars lol. I have a company work van and the wife always gets the new car.

I'd say get them suckers together and getem rolling but I know its really hard to find time for all that. I have a few projects in the yard that I'm ready to let go now. The Ford truck tho will stay forever.
It's mechanically a lot better than it looks but I'm having injector issues. We really needed a 2nd reliable vehicle and the youngin will be driving in a couple of years, she hates when I pick her up from school in the Ford, even tho the boys say "cool truck!"

Ha-ha, I love it. Right now the extra vehicles won't fly at the apartment we are living at. Hopefully we will have a house this fall, then I plan to bring up my '93 wrangler that I've had since I was a teen. She is looking a little rough these days, but still funds well. I hope to be able to give it some attention after my old Jeep is in one piece. My '63 CJ3B is the one that was going through the restoration when I got the job and had to move up to the city. It just needs a bit of body work and some finishing touches and it will be good to go.

My father taught me to back into all parking spots. Here it's no problem, and those are all great reasons to do so. At the time in question I was in a public beach area / coffee shop. I backed into the spot and thought nothing of it. As we were coming back out of the coffee shop there was an officer stopped there who politely asked us to turn our vehicle around. You are only required to have a plate on the back there, they require you to park frontwards into all spots in public areas so any passing officer can check for plates. We complied, but we have plates on both sides :D

Nice Jeep Slice!

No, I dont think so. There is no state law that says you can't back into a spot. I do it all the time. The police, however, catch dip squat bad guys that do it thinking they are being clever. Those are the first cars checked in hotel parking lots.

I think the guy was picking on you, or just lazy. Next time, ask them to quote you the statute. Hacks them off.
