Nice find, gsom

Thanks. I'm pumped, and it took a really good edge, tho there are a few spots that are a little dinged up.

Now, if iTunes hadn't completely F:)k'd my laptop, I'd be a little happier. Even with removal of all Crapple related software, it's still not recognizing my 5th gen iPod with 3rd party software. I hate having to edit the registry, and I shouldn't have to. But I'm not afraid of a little digital surgery. Ipods are the only Apple devices I have, and now I know why. If you don't buy into their whole DRM'd universe, you're basically screwed. Not to mention having to sign into my Apple account before I can listen to my own damn CD's - that I foolishly ripped into iTunes. If there were a way my BK-9 could solve this problem, I would be wielding it with extreme prejudice.

In on three where the cool kids be.

This is how knives are made :D

Ayup, that's pretty much it

Well this sucks, I think I lost my nalgene, I've looked everywhere and can't find it. But the worst part is, it has a lot of sentimental value, I've had it my whole scouting career, traveled all over the country with it, it's been with me to other country and is covered in stickers, each one holding a different story( including one of my BH stickers) really sad day

My lucky day. Found lotsa stuff while working in the past, rarely even something NOT a POS. But today was the first time I ever found a knife.

Reasonably good shape, needs an edge and the spine has a little damage (looks like it was batoned!) but overall OK. Serrations aren't my preference, but I ain't complaining. The most expensive item I ever found was a Sony video cam, on the side of the road, while cycling a coupla years ago. Saw it, slammed on the brakes and went back and just stuffed it into my jersey pocket. Was surprised as hell when I got home and opened up the screen and it turned on....been using it ever since (had to buy a charger for it) but it's great, cause I don't worry about breaking it or losing it, tho I would be bummed if I did.

Anyway, I got a knife to clean up and sharpen!

I found a Sony video cam a few years back, too. Deader than a doornail. Since it was dead, I bought a charger for it. Once it was charged, a few of us looked at the couple of minutes that was on the cassette, recognized a girl on the recording. We called her, and it belonged to a friend of hers. I gave it back. Kept the charger though. Still have it somewhere.
At least they got an expensive camera back.

That doesn't happen often.

I made my first batch of chili of the season today. Turned out damn good.

Nice find, Mike. I have never played with a Rat 1, but from what I gather, they are pretty solid knives.

Doc - not in my neighborhood. I heard that there is a house for sale around the corner that got broken into. The House was empty but the bastards stole all the copper wire and plumbing fixtures. WTF!!!

Glad we've got a pack of dogs at our house.

Thieves will take anything. Last time I got burgled, they took anything metal they could rip out -my bathroom sink, stove, washer, dryer, hell, even my kitchen sink and pedestal-mount cast iron bathtub. And anything metal outside- 55 gal barrels, riding mower, etc....  Fortunately, all my knives and guns were locked in the shop at my mother's house.

SO i had this 1 cut off of steel that was kind of small, smaller than id use for a knife anyways. It is .168" thick 52100. close to 5" long by 1.5" wide.

I was trying to decide if i should try a dashi on it, or a mini tomahawk. Well i figured a way to fit a mini hawk and a mini dashi/knife hybrid on it.

So i decided id start cutting them out and started with the mini hawk.... Ill tell ya what it was easier doing the profiles on both the other full size knives i did. There is just not much room to hold these small things, not much room to clamp it in the vise, there just isnt enough room to work on it LMAO. Plus it didnt help that i drew up a mini tactical hawk with sharp corners and curves either...

But im not giving up on it. Its good practice. I had to make a couple changes to the design, but ill get it done. Not tonight though, i need the help of my grinder, drill press, and dremel for this one.

Wife made a batch last week. Turned out excellent. I think I'm gonna make a swing arm for the fire pit, and cook up some chili over the fire.

If one is going to have an existential crisis, it's probably best not to have it while stuck in traffic on the Tobin bridge.
