That is a great looking knife Dres!

I ground some knives today for the first time with my new grinder. Its a little different but think I'm gonna like it. Even on its highest setting it still doesn't run near as fast as the grinder I've been using for the past 15 years. So, im kinda waiting on the grinder instead of it waiting on me. Since I learned on a machine much faster it makes this grinder very forgiving. With the added horsepower and the glass platten I can really lay on it and not even begin to bogg it down, so that more than makes up for the slower speed. I ground 6 Maguas with it. They were very straight and symmetrical, really liking the glass platen. Once I get all of my attachments (backordered) I'm going to do a full review on my sub forum if anybody's interested.

Thank you guys very much for the kind words. As some of you know I had help with this project. Todd volunteered his time, knowledge and his shop to help me get it done. He provided the advice need to keep me on track and make the knife better.

This knife is made of 3/16 O1 tool steel. It is 10 inches long with a 5 inch full convex blade. The handles are made from curly maple and treated with Aquafortis then stained with some walnut stain. I oiled it with a few coats of Tru oil.

Once again. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
It is very much appreciated.

No, that's WINNING! I really like it when people use the tools and equipment at hand to make their work a little easier. This guy took an old spring some lumber and his imagination and created a way to get his work done a lot easier. If he were my neighbor I'd trade him my BBQ grill for that thing. It's that awesome.

I like when people use the worse tool possible for the job and take all day to do it.... Now THATS winning

-:D

I think I might need one of those Maguas ;)

The six I just ground are already sold Tom, but I sure could hook you up. I can and will be making more.

I saw that, and yes I could make all of my own attachments, but the crazy thing is, I did the math, by the time I buy the materials and paid myself my hourly wage. (Since making them would be cutting into my working schedule) its still cheaper to buy them off of Brett. Honestly, I dont know how the guy does it.

Fun with a CS shovel, a replacement shovel handle, and a chunk of water-pipe and cap...

...plus a crutch tip, a boatload of 550 cord, electrical tape, fishing line, first-aid wrap and duct tape.

Sweet shovel JT.

Now we need a video of you throwing it like a spear!

It's not weighted or balanced anywhere near right for throwing... but I'm sure it would impact like a ton of bricks if I managed to hit something with it :D

It seems to throw great with the stock handle...... I need to pick one of these up eventually. They look like they would be lots of fun.

On another note it feels like xmas today... An Aussie friend of mine sent me a gift card for a KME sharpener with diamond stones, talk about one hell of a gift, from one hell of a great friend!!

WW-

Trade probably just figured you'd be awake to see it. But, no, you've gone and gotten all fancy and able to sleep on us. ;) *snark*
