RK - best of luck to your mom healing up from the infection.
good to hear it wasn't the big C.

Thanks to everyone for all of the support and everything. Mom's gonna be fine and is already planning a homecoming party for herself. :D
She wants a Mariachi band! A freakin' Mariachi band!!!
I don't know who to call to get one but I can guarantee she'll have one, even if I have to put on a sombrero and lip sync. LOL!!!

That's awesome man!

That's right you get her that mariachi band, and wear that sombrero while your at it too, the smile on her face will be worth more than the gold on the planet!

Want to see your sysadmin have a fit?
fire up a bluetooth keyboard in a server room full of mac minis....

Mr. Tackett is putting some nice stuff out. I'm enjoying this bushcrafter.

tradewater, that's a nice looking knife. Ethan got the Tackett I thought about buying at the Gathering. Guess I should order one.

After Gus filled me in on Haglofs gear, I went ahead and ordered another pack to try out.
This one is suitable for an overnight trip, and is made from bombproof 840 denier ballistic nylon and 1680 denier ballistic nylon.
Heavier, but actually made for sliding down rock faces. Should hold up well.
I'm waiting to see about torso fit, but if that checks out, I think I'll like the pack.

mrn8, I finally mailed your flash quiz prize. I'm sorry about the long wait.
We went on vacation, and the knife rode to Virginia and back, but I never got a visual on a post office, so I didn't mail it.
Right after, we had to turn around and go to Alabama for nearly two weeks because my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly.
Finally got back into town on Saturday, and I managed to get it in the mail yesterday. Should be there this week.

I like the slick looks of that pack. Sometimes you just don't want a bunch of stuff hanging off. That would make a good hot weather minimalist fast overnighter. Please PM me where you snagged that Biscuit.

Whoa, I was typing when you posted that last one. Sorry to hear about your father in law. Tell V we are sorry for her loss.

If you could, PM him a smack in the mouth as well. For balance.

That was my idea. You couldn't do a winter trip with it, but you could easily do a summer overnight trip with a hammock and a light bag. PM inbound.

I'm afraid of him. He flips poisonous snakes at people.

That's just an urban legend. It started when he started exposing himself to people at the Paducah Rotary Club Spring Tea Party for the red hat ladies back in '92.

It then became a tradition, and strangely enough, the population always spikes nine months afterwards every year.

I don't doubt the population bang, but I think we're talking about different snakes. I personally have seen the golden glint of a copperhead as it arced in my direction.

Will do. Thanks.

You know how they said Medusa had snakes for hair? He has the same thing kinda, just someplace else. ;)

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law, Guyon. No worries on the package, I always figure summer is busy.

I'd like to hear how you like that speed climbing pack. Something ultra-light with space would be good to have.

Great looking pack G. I love ballistic nylon. It's a bit heavier but it stands up to a ton of abuse. Nice clean aesthetic on that rig.
