Snarking after the gathering CHAT

I actually picked it up on Friday, but it seems like a good shooter. I thought these barrels were already free float? The only thing I see touching is the receiver.

Anyway, I'm probably going to stick a rail on top and mount a 3x9 scope that I've got sitting around. I'm also looking at the Volquartsen hammer for it. As is, though, I enjoyed it. The best part about it is that I won't need to gunk up the AR with rimfire crud!

Got an EDC finished up for anyone who is interested.

Some float better than others. Quick way to test yours is to take about 3 sheets of paper and fold them over the barrel, if you can slide the paper down the barrel between the stock without resistance then its pretty well floated. If not, it is a simple job of wrapping some sandpaper around a round form (most people use spark plug socket) and sanding it down a little bit.

I have the volquartsen hammer in mine, definitely worth it!

If you haven't been there already, Rimfire Central is an excellent resource and has a forum dedicated to the 597: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=218

biked around town a bunch today. ordered a new pack from rei. found a hobo spot down by the river. wheee

oh and I got a 16 in the mail for my sister. now that I have it I want to steal it. such a cool blade!

I was talking to the neighbor kid awhile ago, trying to find out when he is going to weedeat the yard, and let him see my BK16. His words were "Dang! That is a knife! That is something you stick in and hold on to!" Can't even imagine what he would have said had I showed him any of the other ones.

So, had my sister in law look at my finger, she said it could use about 6 stitches but I poopooed that idea and she used steri-strips and a pressure bandage on it instead.

Superglue my friend!! it works wonders!

My SIL is a RN, she was gonna use medical glue but decided the steri-strip ''stitching'' was the better option, I went with her judgement lol

I may be converting another future BH. The ''Irish Girl'' I made the 11 for just ordered a BK7 and had it shipped to me to work over for her LOL, and she's emailing Todd about his mini-Warnie.

I told her she has to get on BFC if she gets more then one Becker lol

Damn! Those Canadian dollars get no respect even when they're trading at par. Alright Talula, I mean Todd, I'll bring down some real greenbacks or Canadian beer/whiskey when we see you this fall.

Well when I got home from the gathering the cherries on the tree were ripe so I preserved some of them last night.

A man after my own heart!

i really like that :)

We had a "rimfire madness" day on Saturday and my son got to shoot his 22 rifle for the first time. I brought my AR-15 and dropped the 22lr conversion in and let him shoot with a red dot at the end of the day. Little marksman that he is said he prefers his iron sights. Here's a couple of his favorite targets and the weapons of said destruction:
