that's a sweet rig - are you simply upgrading to the FFG's?

yeah, I made the mistake of using the FFG16s at Ethan's. I prefer it, even tho IMO the sabre looks better. Depends on ur intended use...the sabre is Strong...more a mini-survival knife, the FFG is a Slicer, more for game-processing and bushcraft

Hm.. I've never posted in these threads before.

Anyways, I just finished my last exam at the university today, so I will finally be able to return to the forest to enjoy nature at its best :) . The weather has been beautiful lately and it looks like it will last for quite some time. I feel so happy right now :D

Awesome to here, kake. I hope you have tons of funs, and post us up some pics of beautiful place. Oh, and I'll send you a free hat if you can get me some pics of the Helle Factory, if you get a chance.

I love that place.

That’s actually only two hours away from where I'm going to stay the summer. I'll see what I can do ;)

As for pictures of other stuff - That I can guarantee :)

Pretty sure I have one of those lying around somewhere actually. Should be pretty much as new. If I can just find it I’d be happy to trade.

Yeah, that would work.

Or, you could go get me one from the Helle Factory and it would have a helluva story to go along with it. :D

I have tons of steel, but I like the story behind them almost as much. Like the time I got all those ESEE knives for not telling on someone for something they did that time at that place we used to go to. :D

I'm kidding, but some of my knives have some really cool stories. Just asking, but how much do the Helle knives cost over there in the Norway? Cheaper I would imagine.

damn thats pretty! I need to look into these Helle knives! Like a mora with class LOL

Um, not really like Mora, but made with class. By hand. Each one. And the price here in the US, is ridiculously cheap, by comparison. Watch the vid on their webpage, and tell me when you put your order in at Ragnar's.

Besseggen, Grizzly and Viking all look nice...as does the Jegermester.

dangitt.... I think I will be ordering one or the other at some point LOL Those are plain out Gorgeous knives!

and would be a good time to throw some new Moras in the raglan cart too.

A Helle Jegermester goes for 699 NOK, which is insanely cheap if you ask me, especially since everything here in Norway is usually a lot more expensive than in any other country. In todays currency 699 NOK is 116,3 USD which is more than it goes for here. The USD is pretty low nowadays though, which is great for me who live here in Norway. Because of your horrible economy and the fact that Norway has the second highest GDP per-capita in the world and most of that money goes to us regular people, I can import knives from American sites without getting money problems even though I’m just a student :D

crap, they sell blade blanks! How have I not seen this before!? I have seen Helle knives mentioned but never looked into them. I would love to put some of my handles on a Helle blade. Thanks kake and moose for bringing this up.

While you’re looking at Norwegian knives I'd like the recommend the Sami knife as well. I grew up using it, and it has been a popular knife in the Norwegian Army as long as it has existed. It’s a great knife for bushcraft and light chopping. You can find it here
The original 8 inch model is my preferred one.

In Grand Junction, CO (which is about 300 miles from home) to pick up the new gun dog! Staying in GJ tonight, backtracking to Delta tomorrow, then heading back to Denver. It's gonna be one of those whirlwind weekends spent mostly on the road...I hate driving.

This has nothing to do with anything...I just needed an excuse to bury myself in the interwebz for a few minutes!
