Snarking after the gathering CHAT

friday night camping at the lake -- strong breeze kept the bugs off.
saturday helped friends move in the 90+ degree heat.
sunday - went to a friend's 25th anniv party with hiking trails, fresh smoked meat, and a live band.
today I have to think of a new excuse not to mow the lawn...

The nice thing about the yellow boats is that they're cool. I mean literally... cool. They reflect a lot of the sun that a darker color absorbs.
Of course, you have to wear sunglasses if you paddle one.

I prefer muted colors. Bright yellow is pretty much exactly opposite of that. They have some sand and camo ones available still. Never had a kayak so I'll probably drown, have to look around for a nice calm lake to go paddle around in for awhile. The problem with a new hobby is there is never enough time to learn all the new stuff that goes with it.
 
I've decided to build one of these in the back yard.
I fling enough burning pianos, and within a month, my entire neighborhood will be paying me tribute money.

After I move next year I am building one, not quite that big probably but big enough to toss neighbors cats back into their yard.

Spider IV 120w combo...2 10's....just got an email though....looks likethe gold top is backordered till july...i was swaying towards a semi hollow dot...looks like i may do that after all..

Looks good Murph! I like the lines and angled corner. U gonna try molding a thumb-push on it? Makes it a lil better to draw from, I tried it and decided it was a feature I need to put on from now on.

hay Daiz...snagged this pic of ur blog....Im digging the bottom chisel/razor/knife thing, specs? details? Is the front edge gonna be sharpened? Looks like a handy pocket-carry knife to use around a shop or worksite.

a good fine edge on the primary edge and a chisel edge on the portion where arrow is pointing...that would be HANDY!
 
Oh no, I've been outed!

That little guy is an evolved version of the neck knife that Trailbum won in my 1000 post contest awhile back.
It's actually chisel-ground - you're looking at the only bevel. The front will not be sharpened. Indeed, it would have had to been ground pre-heat-treat. The final version of that blade will have only two, larger, tang holes. They will each have brass tubes to function as handle pins, sheath retention divot, and lanyard hole. (I need to invest in a good counter-sink...)

Incidentally, the big'un above it is an instance of the mountain knife that was like the bk2 mod you were contemplating earlier.

These two have been in my heat-treat box for MONTHS and finally got cooked on Friday...

hahaha, no, no problem. If they weren't for public consumption I wouldn't have posted 'em.

Cool!! I'm glad he's carrying it around, hopefully not just to make fun of me. :-)
Just yesterday I was wondering how it's holding up.
