I started acquiring Muelas about a year ago. (Both a big thanks and a raspberry both to zuluninja for exposing me to these knives.

If you go to fleabay and search for "knife muela stag", you will get 134 that are under your max price criteria (and 9 above it), with blades ranging from 2.5 inches to over 12 inches.

Watching the last couple episodes of Revolution. I like the show, for the most part. Would rather be sitting in a hot tub by a fire pit with a cold beer and a hot chick.

Check out Silver Stag Knives...

they are "traditional", within your price range, hunting style, unique... I think they would fit the bill!

I used to have a couple of Silver Stag knives, before I found BK&T. They are really well made in the USA and most are D2 steel. I think your dad would appreciate one.

Academy opened in Topeka yesterday.
today I posted up an 870 super mag on armslist and within an hour had a solid bite.
I also have solid bites on all 3 of the forum knives I posted and 2 have paid.
So I went to Academy and picked up an NEF pardner after delivering the 870 (I was already in town, so why not?)
even after paying for fuel, I have $100 left from the shotgun sale.
that and the 3 forum knives may mean a new deer gun.
anyone familiar with the Savage Axis series bolt action rifles? (they're having a KILLER sale on those, too)
 
The axis are good rifles, but the stocks leave a bit to be desired. For another $100 you could get a Remington 700 adl though. I just got an ad that had a 700 adl on sale at schmabelas for less than $400 with a cheapo scope.
