good point - ADL is $345 at the same store, and if I apply for a credit card, they'll give me another $15 off....
then I can pay it off the next week, once I know my sales are final.......
 
I'd definitely go with a 700 over an axis. I believe there is a mail in rebate for the 700 right now as well.
 
seems like you're set on a bolt action, but also look into some lever actions, i recently got a winchester 94, and is by far my favorite rifle

Last time I was a part of making someone shit themselves it was in Fallujah. A Machax was used, but no terrorists (workplace violence instigators) were injured.

lurve my Marlin 336, but need a good centerfire bolt rifle some day. Prolly in 7mm-08.

Perform the BK-11 choil/handle treatment on a BK-5 to turn it into a truly awe-inspiring kitchen cutlass. It will require making some fresh handles, of course. And post your WIP, please. :D

I was going to get a 336 but we found a 70's era 94 at a price we just couldn't pass up.

My dad has a sportarized 1903 Springfield, it is an amazing rifle
 
Just got done working inside a haunted house scaring the shit out of children. I'm feeling good. Sick and twisted, but good.
 
love my 336, but 30WCF won't reach out and touch Bambi the same way a 30-06 will. :D
OTOH, if you REALLY want dinner to fall over when hit, a 460 grain 45/70 will do the trick nicely.
(buddy of mine has a "Quigley" model Sharps)

We had family over tonight for a get together 'round the fire. 'Twas a good night indeed.
 
I been wanting pecan or blackberry pie... No such luck at the store earlier. They did have a million and 1 pumpkin pies though. So we got one of those and some vanilla bean ice cream... I ate 3 slices of pie with ice cream after dinner....

Now everyone's asleep and there is still 3 slices left... I think this means im suppose to eat it... Who saves pie overnight right????

Always like the 336w. Had one and sold it and then broke down and bought another. Gonna put an XS rail on and a 2-7 Leupold I have laying around. I'd like to get a 336y and set that up with the XS rail and a small RDS and light.

For bolt guns I'm partial to the Savage 110 but the only two modern bolt guns I've owned were 110's. I have a couple single-shot H&R's but dang them things are as much as a entry level bolt gun anymore.
 
JT - that's just terrible. I can't imagine how such a thing could happen. And his poor wife and family. Just terrible.
