Snarking at the speed of sludge...

I've got the canteen filled with Pyrodex and a four foot fuse. Do I put the Efferdent in before or after I light it?

Picked up a French WWII military canteen today at a flea market. Any ideas for cleaning the inside? It's Aluminum with a bakelite cap.

Same way you sterilize kittens, bleach, shake vigorously and rinse with hot water.

Got the truck bed dried out, and firewood loaded. Yee haw...

Sounds like a great opportunity for a T-shirt cannon rampage.

I wanted to say thank you for all the support for my friend guys, but unfortunately he passed away this morning. He was supposed to have at least another month, be at least he won't be in pain any longer

blade(s) may be bent/curved so the middle section isn't contacting well.
AFAIK they're supposed to be slightly curved so that each edge has a little pressure against the other. Might have a 1/32 gap in the middle when closed. But the hinge screw's gotta be reasonably snug. The other thing is to clean the blades. Most scissors pick up lots of tape residue and other schmutz an that always screws up a decent sharpening job.

Sorry to hear that man, yet glad there's no suffering anymore.

Sorry for y'all's loss, spike.

It may sound a little callous, but as long as his family all got a chance to see him one last time, I think that's the best way to go. The docs gave my dad 30 days (metastasized cancer) and he went in just 8, in his sleep. As opposed to the way both my grandfathers went - both had strokes (1 due to a clot thrown by chemo/radiation treatments and the other, just old age) and were given 30 days, and then both hung on for 18+ months.

I am sad to hear it Spike.

Please accept, and pass on, my sincere condolences.

It's clear that your friend had an important positive impact on everyone around him; that's quite an accomplishment. Actually, that's the only accomplishment that truly matters.

did some critical grocery shopping tonight - picked up a fifth of Ommegang 3 philosophers, 2 large bottles of Dragon's Milk (vanilla bourbon barrel stout), a 4 pack of Sam Smith's organic chocolate stout, and a bottle of Rumchata for SWMBO - that came with a commemorative thermal tumbler.

got a job (priceless!), got a steak($$), got a wee knitting machine ($), and a couple glass plates i've been hunting for ($/2)

not too bad an evening

Yes sir. Snow flurries forecast. Can't miss that...:D

Haha, I hear that. We've been packing tonight. We both get off at noon tomorrow, and hope to be on the road by 2. 3 hour drive, so not too bad.
