Snarking at the speed of sludge...

So glad it's Friday. Been a long week. Looking forward to heading to the cabin tomorrow. The BeastK2 will be the tool of choice this weekend.

Picked up this ginormous file and thought to myself... "dang this sure will make a nice..... FILE!!!" MUAHAHA! why would I chop up this perfectly functional piece of USA made steel when it can help me make other tools?

You sir, are thinking clearly. The bonus is, someday when that file is just plain worn-out and dull... then you can still make a knife out of it if you want.
Things seem to be falling into place.

I'm glad to hear that, brother. Lemme guess... it's a hard row to hoe but you don't wanna go back to the other thing, do ya? ;)

One of those "you know your a knife nut" moments.

Does anyone else watch those CSI type shows? I don't normally but I saw one recently that the victim was stabbed and a piece of the blade was broken off in the body. Instantly I shouted., "must have been something wrong with the heat treating".

Also they researched the blade shape to find out what model was in some fake computer database. Is there such a thing? Seems sort of impossible to me to catalog every blade shape.

Every blade shape? Must be a hellava database....

Lol! must of been something wrong with the heat treating! That actually made me laugh out loud. You could be right about that sir!

Its the power of Google Jeremy! there is a picture of almost every knife ever created uploaded via the owner or manufacture. Cross that with some identification software and BAM they or breaking down your door! I wouldn't say impossible..... more like plausible under the right circumstances. Not something a local police force would have if anything but maybe on the federal level.

Now this is just plain awesome. http://view.break.com/2777090

Now that would be something fun to shoot for sure. Very cool.

That IS impressive! I need one for g'hog & coyote hunting in the hill country.

But . . . It probably costs at least $75 . . . :D

Agree! adding one to my Christmas list :D

I've no doubt that it would be a fun toy.... However, I've used and tested enough military gear to know that if that thing is rugged (and therefore reliable as more than just a range toy), it will weigh a ton. Not literally, of course, but enough that you are not going to want to drag it over hill and dale for hunting deer, pigs, or fill in the blank...

Checked out the website, and I couldn't find any real specs such as weight of the whole system, who makes the barrel, fire control parts, furniture, etc. I did find that the 7.62 version (I wouldn't waste time with the 5.56) runs just under $15K...a bit more than $75. The 5.56 model does come in at $7,500 though...

Looking at the review on the targeting and knowing my own skill set, I'd opt for the 300WM :)

I bet it would take a bit of practice to get used to

I notice stuff like that all the time, and me bitching about it drives my wife absolutely bonkers. "Shut UP, you idiot, it's only a TV show/movie. No one else cares." I hear that a lot. :o

In other news, I need your address, Jeremy. Email is best for that...

Last weekend I went north. This weekend I'm rockin' a hotel room in VA, right off the beltway. Florida, here I come. Since I'm driving down and flying home, I only packed a Gerber multitool that can be fedexed home with no worry.
