Snarking Up The Wrong Tree

Saw a little action tonight. On the back patio, grilling burgers, when the neighbors started arguing. I thought they were just being loud at first, but after the first eff you exchange, I knew what time it was. They're about a stones throw away from me. Anywhos, went in to eat, and heard them start arguing again. Looked out the window, and 3 guys were out in the street having an argument, then an exchange of fists. One guy had what looked like a broom handle swinging it. Two women were trying to break it up. Kids were out there crying, which pissed me off. I normally don't get involved, but when kids are scared, women in the middle of it, and a guy swinging a handle, I called the police. The arrived within a few minutes. 5 cops showed up. They cuffed all three, and put them in three separate cars. Then an ambulance showed up, and they took one of the guys out of the car, and onto a stretcher. Of course, all the neighbors were out there watching the events unfold. After that, I went out, smoked a few cigars, and drank a few whiskey sours. A busy night here in town, as the carnival is here. Crazy night.

A cabin far far away from people Dubz. Keep your eye on the ball. You strike me as the type of person who doesnt play well with drama. I prefer everything on the K.I.S.S principal and No Drama!!!

I hear that. I was thinking about one of the remote Aleutian Islands.
 
Beautiful country Tanker! Hardwoods and flat rocks are different than we have. We get mostly round boulders and maybe evergreens. Wildfires over the last few decades have done away with lots of the old trees on the skyline.

Sorry they disturbed your supper (Or is it dinner?) Dubz. Humans are a sorry lot all told.
I found my truck had been burglarized this morning. I made the mistake of leaving my drill box in view. That and my storm gear in a duffle bag was taken. They missed the BK3 right next to it. Lucky for me, that got relocated to a better place today.

I say supper. Sorry about getting robbed. Not much that pisses me off more than a thief. If the lazy bastards would put the effort into a legit job, instead of stealing, they'd have a little bit of self worth. Those people never seem to understand such things.

Not enough trees for your blades out there, but the Grand Aleutian Hotel in Dutch Harbor has a pretty good sushi buffet, and there's a good Mexican restaurant in town, oddly enough. But nothing at all else. OTOH, the dump is covered in bald eagles and the ship's chandler is pretty good. Darn quiet when the fishing fleet is out.
 
What are you doin' in Dutch Harbor Daizee, if not fishin' & crabbin'? :cool: A friend of mine spent some (summer-)time in Nome. o_O I guess work is where you find it.

Off and on seismic research (Ewing, deco'd) and USCG ice-breaker research (Healy) ships respectively awhile back. Also pulled into Nome once. Such strange and wonderful places - but not if you get lonely!
 
And on that note, I've moved on to red wine. Just using it medicinally.

Looks like I managed to get a case of poison ivy. Patch on my leg and also on the back of my neck. That last spot is new. Just starting to bubble up. I suspect that it will be a weeping wound by the morning.

So. Much. Fun.
 
i try to scrub down with rubbing alcohol as soon as I can when getting out of the woods. Doesn't help with tick bites but seems to work for poison ivy.
