And i laughed pretty good about the wd40, reminds me of when i was a kid i found an old zippo and used rubbing alcohol as fuel... It worked for a few seconds but that was it.. i ended up just pouring some rubbing alcohol on some dry leaves and using the zippo to spark it. That worked great LOL..

I ran out of lighter fluid once and all I had was a can of gas. It didn't turn out well.

Yeah- I came to the ballcap/patrol cap realization late in life-wintertime doesn't work so well because the grinding/coldwork room in my shop is about 5 degrees over ambient-
I'm looking forward to the resp-o--rator decreasing the gak-at least its volume, anyway.

Take a vacuum to the filters of it and they last a long time. I went ahead and got a couple sets of replacement filters at the same time as the ROR, expecting to need to change them every so often, but i have used the same ones for 6 months now without any problems. I just take the vacuum hose and run it across the filters once a week or every other week depending on usage...

I was hoping they' be vacuumable-bought extras just in case but that's good to know

I'll put up my HOGFSH against your Weiler. Beers sound good. Good laughs sound even better. Leg humps not so much.:D

Is your HOGFSH factory? If so ill take that bet!! If its still factory the edge is probably thick, thats already a thick knife for an 8" blade, and since Keffeler reprofiled my chopweiler it bites like a bulldog!!

I was really referring to the comp cutter though LOL, i wouldnt put my chopweiler up against any battle mistress. Too much size difference. The ASHBM LE i got to play with would out-chop my weiler even after the re-profile. But it still couldnt come close to the comp cutter.

Neko been sleeping most the day so your probably good on the leg humps LOL
 
This one is headed back now, again.. After i played with it a bit last time i sent it back. We have been testing geometry and edge thicknesses. The S7 didnt do so well at .03 with a 15dps edge, couldnt hold the edge like 52100, so after a few changes now we got it to where it can handle the abuse but still bite deep. Its at .04" behind the edge, 4° primary 17° secondary/relief bevel and 22° micro bevel apex... Just at 17° per side secondary the edge would still deform, taking the apex to 22° per side seem to stop that.

Edge has been thinned. Knife is still heavy though.
 
It works but (disclaimer) dont do it or ask your adult guardian first :rolleyes:

We use to do it with rubbing alcohol. Cover our entire hand in it and light it up.... Get some hair singed occasionally but no biggie. Doing it next to a sink full of water would be smart in case it stays lit longer than you want HAHA

So it doesn't burn your skin at all? I know you can mix rubbing alcohol and water and soak a cloth in it and set it on fire without burning the cloth, didn't know it wouldn't burn your hand if you put it on you. Hmm... Something tells me Jerry is gonna drop in talking about impressionable young'uns or something.. :rolleyes: :D
 
We used to do that with Everclear... Much safer than drinking it.
Bladite, I second the tractor. That was what the $$ from my second contract was supposed to be-and yet I am still the "tractor" around here...
