So much fun removing moldy caulk from the bathtub. The little 'dashi shard that I got from Daizee at the fall Gathering has been kinda a lifesaver. Off to the Despot for some more stuff, then I get to be outside....for some more yardwork :overworked::underpaid::saddadface:

good day for it.

i'm about to remove the pool cover, hit the 90s today, so i went looking for a free standing bug porch, and some sundries. fell into some other things for a good price.

man, hit 5 stores looking for stuff, nobody has what i want, but they're willing to order for me. some with arrivals a month out from now. "uh, you know i can get amazon to have this in my driveway by wednesday right? i really want to support you guys, but if i have to order it and come back... that's why i am willing to pay more..." speaking of which 30% off on amazon ;)

it's pool season, seriously? you don't have pool covers? or foo? or bar? really? ORDER IT!

anyway :D

also i have to mow the lawn, order 8 yards of gravel, 8 yards of rock, 4 yards of loam (or maybe "find some")...

busy!

an haul

don't see these items a lot anymore... sargent belt joining parallel-jaw multitool, stanley everything rule, "sweet hatchet", and the tool for imposing order on the world, still with good bluing. nice.

these are the first tools i've bought in simply WEEKS AND WEEKS AND MONTHS :D

i initially went crazy, burned through my mad money, and got probably 110% of what i wanted/needed. that done, it's been a slow process of finding time to clean up and get going.

harbor freight got me some nice small wire brushes today. i must've hit several big box and local hardware stores in my normal wanderings. nobody has this stuff.

also a nylon hammer for the tractor pins. a hoe dolly is arriving ... someday :D

life is good

if busy

Thanks for being bad influences. The alcohol on the hand trick is cool.

I took WW's advice and asked my mom's permission first, but all she said was "If you wanna test burn yourself, go ahead.. But I'm not hauling you to the hospital...."

I thought the hatchet was the tool for imposing my will/ I mean order on the world...

Knocked the rust and remnants of the blue paint off the axe heads with a wire brush, and cleaned up the mushrooming on the poll. Both axes had the Hults Bruks stamp on them (wasn't sure about the rusted up one). So far so good; kinda enjoying breathing new life into these old tools.

Currently ones bathing in some vinegar; I think I'll keep the other one shiny. Then it's finding some handles that fit, and figuring out how to haft them and properly sharpen an axe head…

being able to determine good angles is order...

axes are mmm chaos? but you can impose will :D

I was afraid it would be a Murph-esque candy beer, but it turned out to be pretty good.

Spent the afternoon at a violin recital. I am completely caught up on my Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and Schumann. I might still be able to keep a little Beethoven down.

I was listening to a little crap radio at JRTC at Ft. Polk in September 2001-two days after 9-11-we were waiting to fly back to Drum and then to Kosovo. Bach's cello concierto came on that stupid little radio and it was the most beautiful thing I've heard before or since.

Nice fishies :D

Well it took 9 months, but it looks like im going to have to send the Fenix PD35 in for warranty repair work. The mode button just stopped working all together. Its stuck on the lowest mode. When i try CR123s the light wont turn off at all, stays on... Weird. Hasnt been underwater or anything but it has been used a LOT over the last 9 months.

Ill see what Fenix says about it.

Happy Memorial Day everyone

Have fun nos, I'm currently at an American legion camp, so there is no doubt that we will be taking time to remember the fallen today

We just got back in from a short trip camping late yesterday. I thought I would weigh in OK a topic I have been otherwise silent about.
