Sneak Peek. . . The Busse Combat "Urban Grudge". . . .

Point taken, thanks. So, perhaps, the SHSH II should be referred to as the SH II as the "straight handle" designation can be considered incorrect or at least redundant.

Pete

Not sure if I'm right or wrong here, but IIRC, the "SH" series of knives were only the MS/LMS, the BA, the SH & SHII, and the BM (and the very few axes)... The other Busse knives with straight handles (BAIII/ABA, Buffalo Soldier, Groove Master, the 2 NICK's, Paul's Hatchet, Public Defender, Satin Jack, and I guess the Skeleton Key might be lumped in here too...am I forgetting any?) came later without that designation... Should we call them all SHBAIII, SHABA, SHBS, SHGM, SHNICK...I kinda like that one!... SHPD, SHPH, SHSJ, and SHSK, not to mention their different variations and LE's too? :) Then there's the Stealth Hawk, with quite possibly the straightest spine & tang of them all... ;)

:D

The Santa Ganza was a different type of Ganza...we only had 1 of each knife:)

The ShamRuckO'ganzaaaa will have a limited quantity of each knife...You get in quick you will score...I do not have the specifics of how many of each(I have been slammed at work).. ect, ect, but many will have a chance to score what they are asking...some will not just depends on quick you are with the GO GO GO:)

Thank you Amy-O !

That's what I thought. Santa Ganza was fun and I will participate in this Ganza also. It's just a little bit frustrating when I see such a nice knife, meaby even could spend some $ if the price is affordable (not sure yet), stay awake during night when I got a lot of work the next day and the final result could be without scoring. But I will try it anyway...

I like the look of this one. There's just something about it. :)

Greetings, my fine Finnish friend!:D It's been too long ...

And, I agree. This design has "that certain something" that Mr. Busse so often brings to his metallic art.

Agreed

& I'm thinking the "other Busse knives with straight handles" were refered to as having Gen III handles.

SHNICK :thumbup::rolleyes:

:D

I'm not Tim, but I would bet that this is the point he's trying to make: There is no such thing as the SHSJ. Just the Satin Jack and the Satin Jack TAC. The SHSJ nonsense was started by some busybody on here looking to stir things up.

Don't even get me started on HOGFSH....

.
Yes, that was my point exactly, thanks!

Ouch...you got me on this one. :o I'm guessing HOFSH is the proper acronym? I will remember that for future use. :)

. . . . and it's comin' to the ShamRuckO'Ganzaaaaa. . . .

Meet The Busse Combat "Urban Grudge"

Very nice, I like this one :D

Thanks Jerry

Thanks for yet another Busse history lesson. Actually, seems you never need to use SH or Straight Handle as any similarly named knife is NOT identically named and so the "SH" is redundant: MS vs. MrS; BA vs. BAe vs. BA III vs. BATAC; etc., etc. The SH appears to be used to distinguish old school or "first edition" blades from their later cousins, more of a selling point or bragging right than anything else. I think I'm beginning to get the idea.
Back to topic of thread.
Is that a DCBB finish on the Urban Grudge (or UG) ? And, now that we know that it has one whole inch more blade than a Boss Street, (BS), how excited are we to stay up late Sunday night, scanning 5 different forums for the chance to pick one up? I like it much better than the HG-55 but I'll pass on the Ganza and get one if they show up for sale on site or via Skunk and his store. Damn, I'm out-grumping Bravado on this one.

No SH--!! :foot: :D:D ;)

Pete, please don't take my post too seriously... I was just messin' around last night when I wrote it. All the acronyms that I've gotten used to here since I've been around gets me lolz sometimes. :) To be accurate, jimmyjones hit it with the name of the newer 'straight' handles as being named Gen III. :)

So now we know that this knife is 0.24" thick. Too bad. Wish it was 3/16", or less.

+1

I really like my HG55's for everything but their excess thickness and unnecessary weight. I wish this were a little further removed from them. Might go for one anyway, but it's certainly not a sure thing.

Jaxx,
Not getting my knickers in a twist, just trying to get the terminology correct. Actually, the crack about Bravado referred to being a bit disappointed about the Sunday night Ganza as I don't fancy losing sleep for a greatly diminished chance (scanning 5 forums vs. the usual 2) for yet another blade that I'll have very little chance to play with even if I DO score a couple. I love my Busse collection, (50+ blades), but with my tax refund I bought a couple of 3" XM-18s instead of a (here we go again) SHBA from Mulder or Gusthefish. I EDC an XM-18 but could get busted here in the Commonwealth of VA for carrying even a GW off my property. Frustrating.
Back to correct Busse terminology. The Satin Jack has a Gen III handle but is not part of Jerry's first group of straight handled blades: while referring to it as an SHSJ is "incorrect", calling it an SJ Gen III would be confusing as there were no Gen I or Gen II SJs. This is a handle type designation.
Finally, back to thread topic.
Jerry, I really do like the UG but please release it on site or through Skunk's store so those of us old codgers who need our sleep to keep from getting even crankier that Bravado can score one or two without undue stress on ourselves or crabbing at and pi**ing of fellow forumites. Thanks.

Greetings! It has indeed been too long. Hope all is well with you. I've been busy in the wilderness. Cons: not enough time for Bladeforums. Pros: lots of time to give my Busses a whole lot of use :)

With regard to this Urban Grudge, I might be in the minority, but I think I like this one thick.

awesome design. plus, is there another blade whose name lends itself better to being uttered in RANDY MACHO MAN SAVAGE voice??

UURRBAN GRUUDDGE! OOOH YEEEAH!

-that's how i'm saying it, anyway.

:D:D:D
