We just got a bit of snow here, about 3 inches.
I went out and started one today.
The temperature was in the mid 20's F, so not in the parameters of the contest.
Due to the time of day, I was only able to get a start on the shelter before it
started getting dark. I'll be going back and finishing it up, get a fire going (or my
Kelly Kettle) and hopefully have a day when the temp drops so that I can stay
the evening in it.

Floor material long grass. Still have some to fill in on back
Starting to get dark so I stopped and headed home.
Will be finishing the shelter off later in the week and will post more pictures.
EDIT:: Took out some pics to make room for new pics. Shelter was finished 2 days ago, got a fresh dump of snow last night
and am going back tomorrow to see if it held the snow out.
Now just need to get a night when it's in the right temp range.
The structure (other than the standing "live" tree) was made completely from
dead wood and branches. The thatching was woven into the branches and
layered on top of them, supported in place by a second layer of branches

My wife helped put the finishing touches on it while my mutt stands guard.
