Snow, Snow, and more SNOW!!! Yuck!

I spent the afternoon digging out a work area to start work on the green wood pile, the snow is 2 and half feet deep, and wet n heavy. The logging truck dropped off a ten bush cord load of white birch that comes in 8 foot lengths. Now I can buck it up and split wood and once the snow is gone, trailer it up to the house and pile it to dry over the summer. It takes about 7 cords to heat the place.

Yesterday I went through a full tank of gas in the chainsaw and split what I cut. I am well conditioned from skiing and winter activities. In the fall when I start cutting I do far less from being out of shape from a lack of physical exercise due to sitting out on the deck and from being indoors during the biting fly season. I have to work myself up, which builds up my conditioning for the physical activities that winter brings.

I hope I'm done burning wood for this hell-inter season. But, already cutting and hauling it for next season.

Ehhhh

I spent the whole weekend in the sun and I've had the windows open in the house since. It's spring in my world.
