So, Busse guys: What's on your wrist?

Nice watches fellas.

Thanks to this thread, I now have bought my first "serious" watch... I've also registered at a watch forum, which is always the first step for me down a seriously steep slope --- one that will inevitably affect my INFI collection :(

WAY too late :o

I'll post pics as soon as I get it in hand. My payment is on the way, then it'll get shipped ---- so I'm waiting and hoping my smallish girly wrist can handle the hunk of submarine steel :p

Ahhh...I DO believe I know what's comin'...

Right now I am wearing a Seiko Automatic that I purchased a Sams Club. I have beaten it pretty bad and don't have any pis though.

I really want a Technomarine Abyss though. 12000m waterproof. They are getting into my price range on some of the internet sights.

Bump for a killer thread --- thanks a lot Paul, this thread cost me a couple MOFOs :p

And thank you for the Mofo's.
Glad to see it went toward something worthwhile like a nice timepiece.

As for me I have a Marthon JSAR on right now.

This is my first automatic watch. I already ordered a super oyster bracelet for it :o

Just a quick update (and pics - we all do like pics, right?) - Received the steel bracelet for the '007...hefty combo, very comfortable to wear. Without further ado:

I'm wearing this watch since I received it. So far, it has been very "accurate" - gaining only 2 sec per day :)

this is my toss around watch.

FINALLY got though a hectic stretch there and got to check up on the forums! NICE one Eli! That's my favorite Sinn! You made a sweet choice ! Totally worth a couple MOFO's since they're not SHBM's! After all, you have to know what time it is in order to get out and chase down your mail carrier for your next Busse on time!

BTW: I saw a picture of your watch with a Hirsch Extreme (rubber) dive band and thought it looked BAD ASS you might want to look into it. It's the stretchy/partially accordian type. I have a couple: VERY comfortable!

That looks great! I was thinking on ordering one from Yobokies for my Monster...you just made up my mind, great to see more Seiko fans!

Thanks Paul

That's next on my list, for the gym and the shop

Some thought, in no particular order:
- The BC3 is on the small side (for me) @ 40mm.
- The M auto has better water resistance (100m)
- Interestingly, the hands are pretty much the same on both models
- Movement: USA restored soviet movement vs ETA 2836-2 (I don't know enough to comment on this one)
- The LÜM-TEC comes with 3 different straps; you get to choose rubber or steel on the BC3
- Bigger dial numbers on the M17 - easier to read?
- The Oris looks like an elegant watch; the M17 looks more "Military" to me.

Which one do you prefer? Aesthetics play an important role. Both seems well built watches. Sorry for my n00b ramblings :o

I own a Swamp Rat waki... does that qualify?

Rolex SD is my everyday watch.

My first auto was a Seiko I bought at the Ft Campell PX before I deployed in 03.

Hey Bubsy...I'm thinking of getting a Hirsch Extreme for my Darth Tuna. You got any pics of your watches on one?

Um, I have a Hirsch Extreme, and it's your lucky day. If you send that Darth Tuna my way I would be glad to put it on, take some pics, fondle it a little . . .

sorry, got lost for a minute. I only dream of a Darth Tuna. Maybe one day.

Let's see a pic.

Hey Oeser, you hog, go back to page 3 and check it out. I live this watch, man. Nothing else gets any wrist time. The Ti/Ceramic combo is that heat, man.

Man, that thing is sick! I lurk on the WUS but keep missing oportunities to get one.

Ever since I got my JSAR I have been wanting one of those bad boys. And you've got a pretty minty one too.

Way to go HOG!

Ok guys, let me ask your opinion. Oris BC3 and Lum-Tec M17. Pros and cons? Thanks!
I'd probably go with this one if I got an Oris:

Great movement, great value in a watch. There's a lot out there, but this is probably at the top in terms of value in a Swiss automatic timepiece. For the price range, I'd probably hunt for a good condition Omega Seamaster on that auction site. You can't get much better than that and should get a great one from $800-$1000 that's like new if you're patient!

MKII makes a watch with the 2824 movt called the Vantage I believe...it looks like the same style as the two you like and can be had at a decent price. I think they're a good value. It's 39mm I believe though...so depending on your taste it may be a tad small.

If you're going to have ONE watch, a dive watch is probably the best you can get. Can be casual or dressed up. I wear leather, rubber, nato and the steel bracelet on my Seamaster. Very versatile  can go anywhere you do :D

Sadly, no. I'll try and take one soon  here's one I found on google:

Hell yes it does :D:thumbup: thanks for serving! That's a hell of a watch. All you'd ever need! All you need is some straps :D

Heres's my strap guy, his name is Paul. He mainly does Panerai straps but can make them for anything:
