So, Busse guys: What's on your wrist?

Great thread, Paul. It's interesting to see some people post here who typically do not.

Watches are a PITA to shoot. But I ran out earlier this evening to snap a quick pic of my collection.

The Rolex Sub was a gift from my then girlfriend on the occasion of my college graduation in 1978. Of course, I married her. The Rolex was my EDW until just the last few years.

Before I wasted all my time on BladeForums over the last three years, I hung around on watch forums. That led to the Traser H3 as a knock around watch, and then the Sinn 142. I had stumbled across a great deal on a triple watch winder...must have been prescient because two years ago I discovered the Bathys Hawaii here in Cleveland and the styling just knocked me out. So the three autos are in rotation for EDW. The Seiko World Timer was a gift from my wife nearly 20 years ago, but it has hardly been worn.

A G-Shock at work and an Omega Seamaster Aqua-Terra, stainless/rhodium plate w/ black face for elsewhere.

Well, the watch thread happened to coincide with my first foray into Busse. I was a pretty serious watch collector until I had a son almost 4 years ago and thought I'd better back off on buying $5000+ watches and put some scratch away for him. My watch collection is pretty static now, though I do trade one for another once and a while.

I am a big Sinn fan, too. I currently own a U1 and an EZM1. I agree watches can be a bitch to photograph but here's one picture I got lucky with of my U1.

Good pic of a very nice watch. If that Bathys hadn't come along, I might have got another Sinn, like that 656 above, or some other German brand. Something about the clean look of German watches... or German stuff in general.

I can't read this thread.....too expensive!

:D

One Tag Aquaracer. A gift with sentimental value, so, if all goes well, I'll never buy another watch. :)

For running/biking/triathlon, I have a Polar heart rate monitor. It's worked well in all conditions, no complaints.

Thanks, I agree about the utilitarian design of many of the German manufacturers. I dig the Bathys line too. Cool watches.

Got a Casio.

It's the one that calibrates with the atomic clock nightly.

Had a Rolex Daytona and an Omega Bond watch.

Liked them both but sold them to buy my 'Vette.

The watches just sat in the safe.

The 'Vette just sits in the garage.

The Seiko is hands down the favorite and most worn. Owned since early 90's and has never been serviced and been very reliable! Seiko's are great watches!

Anything I buy these days has to be Ti because I have an allergy to the nickel in non-surgical stainless steels. Found that out the expensive way: bought a few watches with stainless bracelets, and now they're in a box.

My little rotation is perfect for me, but the Movado will someday be replaced with an Omega or a JLC.

Ive amassed 6 watches over the years, although only 2 ever get worn. My Raymond Weil Parsifal and a $25 Quicksilver divers watch as my beater.

Since 1994 I have worn a Swiss Army Officer's model. It has served all my needs for a watch. In general, I am much more willing to lay out big bucks for a knife than I am for a watch. To me, they are just a means of knowing what time it is.

that bathys is fantastic!!

been eyeing those for a couple years, just cant pull the trigger.

i guess i spend too much on knives.

I've been thinking hard about a Bathys Benthic Ti. Got a buddy on another forum who has one he might be willing to trade to me, but it's got the bronze face, and I'm not really into gold tones.

Nice G-Sar, Maq. I've also thought about those. Wish Marathon made one in Ti.

I tried collecting $50-$100 watches once as a way to slow down my $500-$800 knife collecting addiction. How'd that work? Within a year or so I had 20 watches, Seikos and Casios, ranging from $80 to $350!! I've just tried to put the brakes on both addictions but a watch or a knife/sword slips in occasionally. Whatcha gonna do?!

I'm not big into watches but do have four. Marathon, Swiss Army, and two Seiko's. The Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay gets the most use outside work. The Marathon is the work watch.
