So how is everyone liking the 0777?

I'm highly tempted to use mine, but the money that its fetching is really tempting me... Is it worth $600+?

No it's not but i bought one for 650.00 and turned around and traded it for two knives worth 1500.00... so in that sense it was worth it to me.

Sharpie or pencil lead the lock face...should help a little but wipe down the lock face with rubbing alcohol first...that way you know its clean.

Almost forgot if you use sharpie make sure to do at least two or three coats and let each dry before the next coat.

Sweeeetttt and Smoooothh really is as nice as a custom knife.

I love the 0777 as much as anyone else but let's be realistic. It's not on the same level as a proper custom. You can still tell it's a production knife.

Just curious, why is the M390 considered a better blade than the damascus and Vanax 35 blade? Vanax is supposed to be a very high level steel.

I think the m390 is supposed to have better wear resistance but I think vanax 35 has much better corrosion resistance and maybe tougher as well but I don't know of any threads that go into detail about vanax 35. I am sure it is a great steel in its own right.:)

Based on the price it is probably something I'd never buy. But, what is a 0777? Brand?

Added from below.
To above poster, the 0777 is a ZT (KAI) product.

Figured based on the numbering system, but it always bothers me when everyone seems to assume that everyone else knows what knife you're referring to.

I don't think anyone is saying m390 is markedly better than vanax, mainly because so few people have experience with it. I think some people will feel more at ease using the m390 blade than risk messing up the Damascus.

Got it. I prefer the looks of the Vanax\damascus but the knife is a little big for me. To above poster, the 0777 is a ZT (KAI) product.

My DLC 0777 is smoother than my og 0777!

On the original the detent is stronger and doesn't fall closed from the weight of the blade but in exchange it flies open after you overcome the detent with a satisfying thwack!

The DLC on the other hand is just smooth all day, it falls closed but the detent is weaker so less pressure needs to be applied for it to fly open!

Both awesome blades glad I got them but my greedy knifenut soul wants a satin to complete the lineup....

I like my 0777 very much....it's fun to carry and use. It has not kicked the 0801 out of my pocket though. I still carry my 0801 more.

The 0777 looks like an outstanding ZT offering. I'm tempted to pick one up!

A few questions for ZT 0777 owners:

1. Will anymore be produced and made available around or below MSRP? The second-market prices are a bit high.

2. How do the tolerances compare to a Sebenza?

3. Can you easily take apart and clean the knife like a Sebenza?

Thanks!

damn, i don't know how you guys do it. this is too much to spend for me, but i guess not for some. :p wish i had deeper pockets but carrying around somethg that expensive to construction site, yard, everyday carry. always worrying if you got a scratch on it...

I can tell you this. I've sold a Large Sebenza to fund my 0777. I don't regret it one bit. I like it whole lot more than any CRK that I currently own or have owned in the past. It's very well build. My only complain is with the female end of the frame screws. I wish that they had used 6 screws instead of 3 because they used 3 the ends of the screws are exposed. That's the only "unclean" part on the whole knife.

Take down is simple, you just need a T8 for the pivot and a T6 for the frame screws. You'll have to play with the stop pin some to loosen it.

What's the bearing system like when taking it apart for cleaning? I've read posts about it being easy to lose parts or reassemble correctly. Any truth to those?

They were people offering two grand for them at the blade show.......its nice, but......seriously? wish i would have bought one for one of those nice people to buy from me, lol...

It's a captured bearing system like in all to other Kershaw and zt bearing flippers. They sit in blue plastic washer. Ikbs and mrbs are the bearing systems with loose bearings you can lose.
