So how is everyone liking the 0777?

Got it. I prefer the looks of the Vanax\damascus but the knife is a little big for me. To above poster, the 0777 is a ZT (KAI) product.

I do too but there's only a small handful of them out there. There are a lot more M390s out there. Knowing your tastes, it is a little bigger than you like but you're still going to lose your mind when I show it to you.

It's a cool knife, but Im not sure if it was worth the 380.00 I paid for it. I only have knifes to use though.
600.00 not me.
I'm a gun guy though, all users, no safe queens.
Wanna trade for 2k rounds of 62 grain 556, us production?

LOL

2k M855 current value probably $1500, Yes I'd trade my 0777 for 2k all day long.

I have the BLK version, and I'm looking for a non black blade to add to the collection(for carry), $600 seems steep, but I'll wait to see what shakes down the tree. Another cool knife release could stop desire for another 0777. :)

It's a sweet KNIFE, Thanks ZT.

I would be shocked to see any version of the 0777 sell for less than $380(for like new, not a beater) anytime in the next 5 years, unless more are made.

Does anyone know if there are going to be more offered at MSRP, or if KAI is planning another run?

A real shame to miss out on such a great looking offering at its reasonable price point, =/!

No one knows for sure except the KAI folks, but here are the estimates......

ZT0777 Composite Blade - Approx 250 pieces

ZT0777M390 - Approx 1300 pieces

ZT0777BLKK - Approx 200 pieces

My guess is that the M390 will be much like the ZT0560CBCF. Prices will be high until they all hit the streets and then the prices will come down and there will be plenty to go around at much lower prices.

One of the original versions just sold on the auction site for $2150.00

The M390 and BLK seem to be hovering right about $600 on the secondary market.

are these knives gold plated? :p

People keep making fun of the price, but I payed 380 for the BLK version and a lot of people payed 360 for the stonewashed one. Some retailers actually did sell them for a good price, not a huge mark up. Like I said, for the 380 bucks, compared to 425 for a large insingo... I think it's a pretty good deal.

As for the crazy prices on the secondary market... rich people want what they want when they want it.

Ya, prices are kind of crazy... I was lucky to get decent deals on 4 originals, sold 2 off and kept 2. Paid MAP for the SW and BLK's.

I think the 200 BLKs are part of the 1300 piece run.

I think so. I think M390 would definitely hold up better than the softer S35VN of CRK. The flipper makes it more fun and the ball bearing makes the action glass smooth. I'm happy with my purchase.

I'm not entirely sure if I like mine. I know it's an amazing knife but right now i'm on the fence.

- My partiuclar knife has a detent that seems almost to-easy to break through...it flips decently and smoothly. Closing is super easy and it falls into the closed position without anything but gravity. This is mostly subjectional but I wish it had 50% more detent resistance as it does. It flips alright but it doesn't flip with authority and give a solid snap for me.

- With the nature of carbon fiber handles the knife seems a little too light and sometimes the sound of locking up just doesn't sound confident. I know this is nobodies fault but my own brain but it bothers me.

- The pocket clip is too short and it doesn't give your fingers a place to rest on top of so you don't rest it on the lockbar. My lockbar seems sensitive to any type of pressure and will effect the flipping action. I have big hands so I really have to be extra careful where I place my fingers.

Please take these criticisms with a grain of salt... I am just some random Joe Blow and these are very small issues I have with it. I can say 95% good things about it but these are my only criticisms of the entire knife. I still think it's an amazing knife, but it may not be for me.

oil your detent ball with some rem oil. It has helped mine tremendously.

I like mine and I use it. I even let my girlfriend use it to open the box of the DLC 0777. :)

However, I'm not entranced with the very light detent. I can shake the blade out without a great deal of effort and I'm a puny cubicle dweller. Much prefer the 0801's stout detent, which allowed the blade to open with serious snap.

While I also prefer the ZT 0801 for snappy and authoritative flipper action I actually think that all the various ZT 0777, 0777-M390 and 0777-M390BLK flippers have a medium-strong detente unlike the ZT 0560 series with medium-weak detents.

I recently bought number 46 of the original run from pharmagator. It's like a dream come true. It's so fantastic in every way!

Nice score.

A relative bargain at $1,200 to boot considering another was sold the same day for $2,150!
