• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

So, I finally got around to polishing this shiv

Nathan,

Looks like it could've come from the bench of Billy Mace Imel or Lorchner ! Cant think of a better compliment than that.

Have fun trying to top the shiv LOL

Wow, that's gorgeous Nathan! But calling it a "shiv" is self-deprecation IMHO. That's a dagger :)

You guys are going to make my head get fat. *grin*

If I can, I'll get some pictures this weekend and try to make a proper thread for it over in the custom and handmade forum (the folks next door).

Thanks a bunch for the accolades.

Josh,

Billy Mace Imel was my inspiration for trying this piece and I would consider it a compliment of the highest order. He discussed a few points of his shaping and refining process (stones) to me. David Wesner was also significantly helpful getting started stoning.

Hengelo,

The wood is a dark green stabilized double dyed maple burl by "Nicholas stabilized wood". It is some of the most beautiful material. I want to get a better picture of it under some light. The Nicholas material looked like a gem and worked really well.

That's cool. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Imel at the Guild Show last year and picked his brain about satin finishes and other fun things. A true gentleman and funny to boot.

Beautiful knife Nathan, I don't care what you call it!

Out of all the knives posted on Bladeforums throughout the years, this is my new favorite. I swear my eyeballs popped out and I had to feel for them on the floor. Thats after i tripped over my jaw.

Good Lord what a knife.

Nathan... If you made it It's not above your skill level!
That looks to be something that should go to an engraver :)
