So what kind of flashlight do YOU carry?

Inova T1 in whatever bag i'm carrying.

Surefire L4 in my left pant pocket.

Inova X5 left in the glovebox of my car.

New ARC aaa Premium, some assorted Peaks, a few Photons, a couple of Surefires, some Inovas and a bunch of imported stuff.

The ARC and the Peak that uses the leftover CR123s get the most use, next is the Dorcy with the 3 watt Luxeon, those are EDC'd or used daily, my ARC hangs around my neck the Peak on the keyring and the Dorcy by the door with the dog's leash, oh yea I hook blinking Photons onto the dogs colors so I can see them in the wee hours of the AM, the Surefires are next to the 9mm Taurus Millenium in the bedside drawer.:D

Underwater Kinetics 2AAA mini pocket light. Not a bad size, fairly bright, good runtime, and best of all, I got several of them FREE! :D

In case you are interested in up-gunning your Solitaire, here are a couple of links containing the best AAA lights on the market today:

To answer your question, I EDC an ORB Raw or JIL DD in addition to my keychain light in the winter months. Since neither of these lights are mainstream, here are some links:

Hey, thanks man! I apreciate it!

During these cold days it has been a Surefire Z2 stuck in my Carhartt.

I want an E2e and a classic 6P.

I don't know that the L1P would really be considered an "upgrade". More throw perhaps, but the Surefire will have better regulation and a smoother beam with better flood. The Fenix is damn nice, but a direct comparison between the two is kinda apples vs. oranges, or rather a $100 orange vs. a $45 apple.

I guess I should have choosen a better word than upgrade. Mia culpa. I prefer it because it is smaller, slightly more pocketable for me, and uses easily found and cheaper batteries. I really appreciate your thoughts on the orange vs. the apple.

Primary is a Surefire G2 in a Blade-Tech carrier.
Backup is a Streamlight Scorpion in a horizontal Safariland belt pouch.
Backup backup is an Underwater Kinetics UKL2 in my pocket.

If I know I'm going to be out at night or in a dark place, I will supplement what I always carry with other lights, depending on what I think I might need.

I'm a real fan of the UKL2 as well Rhino -- very light, bright and small for a 2 x123 light. I'm a little surprised this light is so seldom mentioned. It also handles the UK 4AA eLED head well in addition to its normal ican head.

I have an ARC AAA on my keyring and an ARC LS in my pocket everyday, the LS is the old twist on 123A style, still haven't found one as small and convenient with that output.

I use a Inova T3 at work, great throw for an LED light, I keep a Inova X1 around my neck for working backstage, nice, clear, tight, controlled beam. I have a Mag AA with a NiteIze LED drop-in with my tools to use as a loaner.

Inova X5 in the glovebox, I keep a Surefire L4 in the BOB, with a Surefire L1 and L2 in the drawer for when I need to grab a light. There is a Streamlight Stinger on a charger by the back drawer, and an old Surefire E1 with a KL1 head on my nightstand.

Yep! It's not quite as bright as the "tactical" lights, but as you mention it's smaller, lighter, and you get at least four hours of useable light as opposed to an hour or less. It's a good tradeoff.

I used to carry a UK4AA before I got into the ultra-bright tactical lights, and I liked that the UKL2 uses the same lamp.

I still keep a UK4AA at my computer and I have a UK2AA (for the movies!) and a UK4C in my truck.

At work I always carry two...

A SureFire 6P on my belt, and a Inova X-1 in my scissor holster.

Otherwise, I usually have a ARC LS-H in my pocket, and an Inova X-5 in my glove compartment.

I used to carry a Surefire G2 with me. But when my belt got a little loaded down and I began to look like Batman or a janitor because of all the pouches and things on my keyring, I dumped all the extras.

For a while there I didn't carry any kind of light at all and figured that the porch light at home would be enough, and if it wasn't, the 4 Dcell Mag in my car would do the trick. But I kinda missed having a small light, so I added a Photon III to my keychain.

It's small and doesn't add any weight to my keys and it's plenty bright for checking the mail at night without lighting up the whole neighborhoor like my G2 tends to do.

I usually EDC an Arc AAA on my keyring and a Surefire G2 in a nylon sheath on my belt. Never leave home without 'em. ;)

A Surefire E2D when I'm out and about. A Streamlight Ultrastinger when I walk the dog. The Ultrastinger definitely gets more use. I'm happy with the performance of both.

I wonder if there is a strong correlation between people who carry Surefires and similar lights and people who carry pistolas all the time too.

Arc aaa P stays on my keys since I`ve had it. I`ve used it 5 days a week in the month and a half I`ve it and it still has its original battery. At the most it stays on for an average of 20 minutes a day, but still....it so damn reliable.
I alsp keep a QIII in my daily toolbag as well as a SF 6P in the bag`s side pocket. A man can never have too many flashlights.
