So, what's your daily carry?

  • Thread starter Thread starter dp

In the glovebox there's a converted Top Lock, in my pocket there's either a nice looking Fight'n Rooster or a small Hubertus springer type.

Working in a prison means the blade stays very small. They say don't bring in any blade you don't want put into yourself.

Right now, I carry either an AFCK or an AFCK Mini, depending on what I wear. The Mini is for formal wear only. (That little clip looks great sticking over the cummerbund when wearing "tails.")

I will start wearing a neck knife also as soon as Alan Folts get finished with my new Mantis. (#4 of 50!

SAFETY NOTE!!!!!!!
dp and tobii3 are NOT the people you want to be near in a Tornado! (Can you say Cuisinart?)

I cut it, and I cut it, and it's STILL too short!

Hey Ken, I'm not the threat! Tobii3 is the crazy one! We were in Ecuador together and it was him who was always seen cutting down the banana trees! Two knifenuts in a jungle can be extremely dangerous

Daily carry is an Emerson Commander Black T #876. Usually also carry a SAK Tinker for utility use.

Right this minute . . .

M2 AFCK, right front pocket
serrated Delica, left front pocket
Leopard Cub, shirt pocket
SwissTool, in belt pouch
Vaquero Grande, right back pocket

The first four are normal carry, or something similar. The Vaquero Grande is reserved for slicing pineapples.

Never carry a knife shorter than your schnoz.

right now, my daily is either a benchmade aluminum axis 710 or a spyderco endura '98. this is supplemented by an RJ Martin "handiman".
this summer, i will have my ultimate daily carry. i have ordered a maddog mongoose and expect it in june/july, and i am going to the blade show where i plan on purchasing a sebenza. then i will finally have my ultimate carry combo!

Ken,
Don't listen to dp, he's the crazy one!! Just because I was "field testing" a Cold Steel LTC Kukri while I was down in Ecuador doesn't make me crazy. You might want to ask him about the "paranoia" he caused our Colonel by pulling all ELEVEN knives he was carrying and placing them on the table. Needless to say, we never had any conversations with him after that day. Ask him!!

" I wear my wife's eyeglasses because she wants me to see things her way "

Everyday carry and day job-
Front right pocket- AFCK

Moonlighting job-
Front right pocket- AFCK
Back strap- Ontario Blackwind katana
Chest strap- 2 Rigid double edge throwers (may switch to the new CS throwers...)
Left belt- CS LTC Kukri (sometimes alternates between Junglee Short Sword)
Right belt- BM Nimravus
Right shin strap- Alternates between a CS Recon Tanto, United Shark Hunter diving knife, or an Ontario Spec-Plus Quartermaster (depending on the environment and the job...)

I keep a Junglee Short Sword in both my cars and a small dagger in my jacket breast pocket.

For daily carry, I rotate between my Sebenza and Shadow IV combo or my RJ Martin Quickening and black bladed large Socom. When I can't carry a fixed blade I will carry my large and mini Socoms. I also have a grey bead blasted Socom I am still looking a suitable fixed blade companion for, maybe a Boker mini smatchet.
The Leatherman Wave is always on my belt.

When I want to carry something that I don't mind losing, I carry a CS Kobun or CS Desperado coupled with a BM AFCK or a CS XL clip point voyager.
So many knives, so many choices!

I usually carry two knives..a small Sabenza and SAK....I sometimes alternate between the Benza and a Vallotton

My Spyderco Viele (plain edge) in my right rear pocket if I'm not expecting hard use, the Wayne Goddard if I am in the garden or garage. The LM Wave has replaced my old LM original and rides in a cordura velcro attached horizontal sheath I found at Brookstone some years ago, perfect fit.

For fishing/camping, I bought a Spyderco Moran to replace my Lakota Finwing, butt the wife decided it fit her hand and camp cook duties so its gone. ><g> (better a happy cook)

CS El Hombre
Spyderco Ladybug
CS Mini Pal
kuboton key chain
pepper spray

That pretty much sums up what you might expect to find me carrying at any given point. MA law doesn't allow concealed carry of fixed blades, and concealed is the only way I'd carry one, so mine stay at home with the rest of my toys.

Dp, Tobii, no need for arguments. As far as I'm concerned, you're BOTH nutbars. But you're my kind of nutbars, if it helps.

Ken, #4 of 50? HAH! I mock you pitilessly. I guess we can't all get #3 . . . but at least you paid half price like I did, right?
smile.gif

As for daily carry, right now it's a 2 1/2 inch schrade Old Timer single blade slipjoint. It's non-threatening. I just got a CS Bushman, though--maybe I should start carrying that and see what people think?

PS--I'M JUST KIDDING!

Today: Spyderco Wegner in R. front pocket, REKAT Fang inverted carry from inside blazer pocket & F. Perrin mini tanto neck piece.- That's about a normal load for me- Sometimes include/ replace with one or more of the following: Greco Boot, Black Cloud dagger, Gerber Covert, Double Edge Forge Sgain Dubh, Dozier, Livesay etc. neck pieces- nice to have choices...

At work I carry an Endura with the integral clip and other times I carry my new straight edge Military.

Noli non legitime carbor undem est

Delica II for work...and AFCK after work.

Can't imagine carrying 10 knives....I thought
it was kind of strange to carry two but I guess in your trade .

Gee, the only two I carry on me are a keyshaped knife on my keyring and a John Primble castrating knife. Used to carry bigger ones, but the Primble says it all. In the truck, until I rehandle the battleaxe I keep a light cavalry saber in case of Indian trouble and a flanged mace for when I really want to make an impression. And no I am not kidding about any of the hardware. About Indian trouble, I am kidding, since I worked on the local rez for years and have friends there.

"...and a John Primble castrating knife."

Rusty.....you a doctor or a rancher?

In either case, remind me not to challenge you.

Right now my two year old Endura II -- but this will soon be replaced by the Military I won!

Chinook, I may be a *slightly* different kind of social worker and church congregation president than portrayed on TV.

((edit - re your question below, hadn't thought of it that way, but never heard of the 30+ guys whose paroles I revoked getting pregnant in the joint, so I guess it was a form of birth control. Mostly though it was stuff like, "No maam, I did not say I think you are an unfit mother. What I said was that I have a court order that says you're an unfit mother".))
