So, what's your favorite woods knife?

With so many options these days when it comes to knives, I was wandering: What's THE KNIFE that you have to have on you when head for the woods?
Meaning that you own and used the knife long enough to know you can count on it.

This is not a "perfect knife" research or a "my knife is better than yours" contest.
Size, style, grind etc...don't matter. It just has to be your current favorite woods knife. Pics are always appreciated

Mine is the Spyderco bushcrafter.
I own and used it for about 4 months. Handles easily all my cutting needs. Mainly used for wood work and it excels at it.

that is a tough call, I collect these things throughout the year and then use them when I go up to the woods. This year I got up 7 times, and usually rotate my tools each time up to give me a chance to use everything, otherwise I end up hauling up a ton of steel. That said, my Fiddleback Bushfinger has to be my favorite bush blade to date. The handles are the most comfortable of all my knives, it is the perfect size for what I need.

You know I don't have one at the moment. The one that has come with me the last two outings has been my Mora Companion MG but I'm looking to upgrade it.

The only knife that has been with me all the time is my Victorinox Farmer. Other than that I am switching around quite a bit. I take an Izula most places I go, but that is by no means my favorite woods knife. The three I pack most nowadays are a Condor Bolo, a Culberson Golok, and a Koyote bushbeater. But usually not more than twice in a row for any of them. And sometimes none of them, and I'll take a different machete/chopper.

So, I guess I'd say the Vic Farmer.

My main companion for more than a quarter century has been the Schrade Walden 165OT Woodsman. The one in the first picture is the original one I bought back in the early 1970's.

I usually grab one of these.

More times than not, its the Mora 780 Triflex.

The other two are a Bravo-1 and a custom by J_siah (Gravelle)

I don't have a favorite, I have favorites. It all depends on the mood and train of thought when I'm heading to the woods, and the reason for the trip.

knife? singular?

Still my Aurora, will take a pic soon. But expecting USPS to deliver an Ontario SP50 this week. Completes my big/small tools for woods work.

It has to be the Outrider. Regardless of what else shows up it'll be there. An excellent tool it it's own right but so often it plays second fiddle in support. It is the tool that gives the most confidence. Should the primary cutter fail there will always be that Outrider.

I'm sure it exists and it's out there waiting to be found.

While I agree with you, there got to be ONE knife that holds spot #1 as we speak, for one reason or another. Try again Mist :D.

I have knives that are thicker and prettier, but none that do the job better,

Same here. But what I do find myself wearing fairly consistantly is a Becker Eskabar. Small, light, flat and basicly a set and forget under a jacket.

Are we talking today, yesterday or tomorrow ?

I've lots of favourites but if forced to pick two~
