So, what's your favorite woods knife?

As strange as it looks, this is the knife that really gets the work done for me. The dimensions are funny...long handle and a short blade, but for my large hands it really works. It's almost disappointing how I continually pass up my other knives for this one when I have a cutting project to do.

Little blades with big handles are great. I never have figured out who made this one. The handle is large and the little blade takes and hold a great edge. It's been with me for 20 some years now.

I still use my Gerber LMF II. I know Gerber doesn't have a good reputation, but this one has served me well. My brother uses one too. He teams his up with a CS Recon and I pair mine with a Buck 319 stockman and a Buck Vantage Force Avid.

MY Mark Wohlwend Bushcrafter was my favorite.....

Well, since the majority of my time in the woods is just wandering around with my 3 yr old son for a couple of hours, I pack pretty minimal gear. For that reason, my Victorinox Farmer is my number one. A lot of the time it's the only knife have with me.

During my last woodsloafing session, I was well-served by am Izula and a Condor golok. My daughter and I built a quick lean to and small fire.

You know pitdog, that is right up there with my favorites.

Here is the deal if this question had been If you were to walk out the door, right now. What fixed blade knife would you take if that was the only knife you could take with you for a 30 day camping / survival trip anywhere on the planet but the frozen north.
If I was heading to Canada or something like that I would be taking my axe lol.
Then I would say this knife design

Out of all the knife designs that I have made for me this is my favorite one I am just tickle pink:eek: with it.
The more I handle this knife and the way I shaped the handle it is the best so far.

Bryan

I like that one as well Bryan. Looks like a real bacon slicer.

My current favorite is my Gossman Deer Creek (on the left). I love the convex edge.

I'm becoming fairly fond of my Izula, but it will definitely need some proper scales, and maybe a strip job.
