So .... where ya from!

Like so many other places, the old town has taken a hit or three, but keeps hanging on.
During those years I worked at Dresser ‘74-‘84 when it imploded. 450 terminations in one day in a town this size was kind of a big deal!
The folks at Zippo/Case are generous beyond words to the community. Secretly of course, but people know it wasn’t me that donated that 5 mil.!😆

It looks like I'm going to be at the McKean county Fair for a day or two this year.

That’s cool! I was going to show a pic of the Kabar building (if it’s in the same place?) for the fans of those.
A good excuse to eat at Angie’s, my favorite restaurant.

The Ka-Bar factory building is over on Homer St. just past the NYS Troopers station, Cutco (Alcas) is still over on East State St. I can’t believe that Ka-Bar doesn’t have their own knife show event, I’m gonna have to stop over there and ask for a BBQ knife show I think.

Born & raised in San Francisco.

It's not as bad as it sounds. SF in the 50's-60's was a great place to live & grow up. A small big city with a mostly blue collar working class population, when you didn't need $1M+ to buy a small 2 bdrm house there.

Lately not so much but it's still one of the most beautiful cities in the world if you know how to avoid the congestion, homeless, car break-ins and other nonsense that's currently going on there.

I still live w/in commute distance of the City but I seldom drive into town unless I have a medical or other appointment that requires me to do so or if there's just something I want to do in the City that I can't do elsewhere, like going to the theater/symphony and dining at a special restaurant.

Otherwise, SF is as alien to me now as it is to others which is a crying shame. :(

Born in Geneva Ohio, when I was 10 we moved a bit south to Boardman, outside of Youngstown. After college I lived in and around the greater Akron-Cleveland area spending the last 16 years in Lake Milton. Last summer we moved to Wesley Chapel Florida and if I have my way when I die they can wheel me across the street to one of the water retention ponds and feed me to the gators, because I never want to move again.. haha.

I grew up in North Georgia for the first half of my life, and now I’ve been in far Nothern California for the second half of my life. And, I was in Flagstaff, Az. for a short time in between.
I grew up in Northern California (Sonoma County) and now live in North Dallas. Still have family in Mendocino and Lake County. The wife, kids, and I are going out in February to see family/friends.
