So, which new Cold Steel are YOU getting?

4" blade = 6" handle??

Its instantly noticeable too, would've liked a little more effort in the blade/handle ratio department.

Propably the Trail Boss. Seems solid enough, but it has that look about it, I don't know, I just want one. And that's where I live and a good quality Hults Bruks axe can be gotten at the hardware store for a third of the price of the Trail Boss. Seen it around for 150 US equivalent. Because of CS declining quality control in the lower level products I really want a local reseller incase the goods is unusable or have major flaws.

I have all of the Drop Forged knives except for the Push Knife. The Bowie is my favorite so far. In fact I have one tucked in my waist band as I type this very post.
It's a nice size for easy sash carry . In my pics above , the Bowie is dwarfed by the Laredo and Holdout . Great medium sized fixed for general utility or fighting .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes sir. It's a great knife, perfect for just about anything that needs cutting. I noticed you also removed the belt loop. I did the same and installed a large black zip tie so that the tie end works as a post to keep the knife above the belt. Sort of a poor man's Southern Comfort!

In the product description it mentions that the Drop Forged Bowie is based on a custom knife in Lynn Thompson's personal collection that was designed by a Arkansas based knife maker. Nobody has confirmed my suspicions but I think it might be National Living Treasure Jerry Fisk! How cool is that?

Which new CS am I getting?
None.
I'm holding out for a one piece 6 foot "Professional" heavy wall big bore blowgun/hiking stick and some broadhead darts suitable for Moose and/or Elk size game. :)

Oh, and maybe some deep penetration exploding darts for defense against grizzly and brown bear attack.

I used to consider Cold Steel (CS) as a fixed blade option years past. But I have moved to the point that I seldom even look at their knife lineup any more unless someone posts or mentions something that grabs my attention. But I have no plans to buy any CS knife or other CS product.

Master Hunter 3V stonewashed, made in Italy. These are a bit nicer than the Carbon V versions, albeit with a worse sheath.

I use to think the very same thing, and now I own 4 Cold Steel knives. The drop forged dagger, and 3 CS folders with CTS-XHP steel. They are probably going to be carry knives.

please wear little tinkle bells so we know which scat pile to send home to your family......

You asked, so I must say, actually none... Because the nice stuff (there is !) is at custom price level and the ordinary offering is just "meh" in my opinion. Understand, this relates to the entry level Cold Steel knives I already hoard in my drawers... and appreciate a lot. I just don't need to buy more "meh" stuff.

Bush Ranger is awesome.

^^^Especially the old fixed blade version. If you find one at a reasonable price, get it.
