Sodbuster...and lots of them!

I'm an avid Sodbuster Junkie... or I thought I was until I found Trev's forum post while googling sodbusters. Thank you for the list of soddies I need to work on finding :). I've got a nice little collection myself, I'll get a "family photo" of them up shortly. I haven't gotten any GEC #71 soddies yet, and I'm not sure yet if I want the #21, they seem a little bigger than I want (even though I have a German Bull Lockback Soddie that i the size of a Buck 110).

Here is my current collection, I have about 5 more in various stages of delivery this week.

Great collection Zombis, looks like you've been bit by the soddie bug!!

thanks for the link Alnamvet, he has some cool knives but that soddie if very nice!

Received a green canvas micarta GEC Bullnose in trade and I'm really admiring the simplicity of it. As much as I liked my son's Case Sodbuster Jr. in CV & chestnut jigged bone, the GEC feels better size-wise for me.

Very cool!
Where did you get the United Cutlery?

The response will have to be via email or Visitor Message. We don't discuss where to buy in the discussion forums.

I am having a hard time deciding, should I go with an orange or black sodbuster?
. The steel is going to be 01, just can't decide which first. I am thinking the orange since I have a spyderco manix 2 in black g10 with s110v steel, but the black was harder to find new.

Help me make up my mind...

Thanks in advance.

Here's a new sodbuster I just discovered. I'm hoping the makers make a junior sized one, 'cause it's a beauty by Smith & Sons, in collaboration with GEC...

AlNamVet - Wow those are beauties!

Actually I only own ONE sodbuster and I do LOVE IT - the classic yellow delrin Case in CV... This is my go-to knife when I've got a tough job that I'd be horrified to use any of my other folding traditionals for. To me, when you say "Sodbuster" it's the yellow Case in CV that comes to mind. :)

Are you having one custom made?

:grumpy: And I still haven't picked one up yet.

Jerry D,

Tell you what though, I do like the newest ones that come in chestnut bone n CV... If those were available at the time I might have snagged one of those, who knows. But for me this one is the definitive "Sodbuster" :)

Ok, situation has changed. Options are now: Both sodbusters, orange and black in 01 OR Northwoods Norfolk whittler or Hawthorne clip in Blue camel bone

I have the tan micarta version, it's outstanding! No lock rock and really smooth open with no half stop. I also hope that they convince GEC to make a lock version of the 71, would be nice!

The farm lock isnt far off from the bull nose and has a lock as the name implies, also available in 1095 and 01.
