Sodbuster...and lots of them!

Tortoise Shell looks great!

Agreed! Bob, these look great sir! Congrats on a great SFO.

Great SFO Bob. I think you picked covers that will really knock it out of the park.

They aren't bad looking, but not for me. I would have jumped on a blue jeans micarta, or a black canvas.

Tortoise shell is nice looking, but just doesn't match the workmans soul of a sodbuster.

As it was so eloquently stated by Tyler Durden in Fight Club, putting feathers up your bu** does not make you a chicken...

Edited for family content (?), not sure, just being safe.

While I agree with you that the sodbuster has a workman's soul to it, I feel there is still room to be creative and to have different takes on the pattern. I don't feel that every sample of the pattern has to stick to it's roots, and if we did these would only come in wood handles. Also, unique and crazy acrylics are nothing new to the pattern, Fightin Rooster's had many sodbusters handled in a variety of these, as did Eye Brand. To each their own though, just different strokes for different folks!

Oh, and these are on the top page now! Woot! Sunbrite is more yellow than the picture shows, can't wait to get these in hand!

I agree, that is why I said they are nice, but not for me.
I bet they will sell out as soon as they hit the shelves.

What I would like to see is GEC get in touch with Shadetree Customs for some more exotic micarta. While it is stretching in scope of color and designs available, it would still ring true with a form=function standard..

I would love some in Shadetree's burlap micarta! That would almost be a grail soddie for me! That real course texture just screams for that pattern, with the history of burlap sacks used on farms and work places..drool:D Maybe that's my next project....

I'd have to have that. Nothing more natural than a Saturday morning, sodbuster knife, & blue jeans. Surely GEC has some leftover blue from Derrick's SFO.

Well since I missed out on the Natural Canvas, I am going to try for the the Red micarta.. Sent an e-mail to get on list/buy 1 !!! Hope this happens!!! John

This thread has been fantastic. I just spent the last few days reading it from start to finish and somewhere in the middle I ordered my first two busters. First is an old 70's junior with cracked scales. She's going to get some new pants at some point but not sure which direction I want to go. Maybe denim or green micarta? And the , last night, I ordered the black linen bullnose from Collectorsknives. I'm really excited about this one. The only problem with ordering online is the dreaded wait time. I'll post pics as soon as show up. 😀
