SODBUSTERS... bust 'em out, work 'em hard and show 'em off

Wow. That looks exactly like a 2 3/4" Falkniven U4 Wolf's Tooth minus the large pivot pin. Could it be that they based their design on a smaller version of the Case Sodbuster Jr.?
I’d never heard of that so looked it up and I don’t see any resemblance. There’s a ton of knives out there though that are based off the Sod Buster

I don’t see the resemblance either, unless you’re looking at the knife and its shadow. 😉

The red handled Case American Workman sod busters are out now. Listed as “CS”. Is that a carbon steel different from CV or the same? Anyone have one or gotten one dirty yet?

I'll just quote myself from another thread because I'm lazy, lol.

A couple of years ago, I asked a Case rep why CV steel isn't used more often. I was told that the CV steel that Case has been using is old stock that they could no longer procure... And that once it is gone, it's gone. No idea if that's accurate or not, but that's what I was told.

I'd like to get one of those Red handled CASE Workman Sodbusters, do they come in the smaller size too?

CV possibly becoming extinct is a defining moment, but carbon is carbon.

Here's a Sodbuster from an extinct company, Queen Cutlery. D2 is great steel for a work knife, this was inexpensive AND well made- when Queen had a crown.

^^ If I’m reading the Case text correctly, seems sure it does. They just don’t say which one, though.

Well, nuts. I might have to pull the trigger on one more CV Junior. Maybe two.

Soon our old-time CVs will be worth milliions!
There's a thread somewhere speculating about Case's new carbon steel. IIRC, the new carbon was thought to be going to be 1095, and it was suggested that CV was already 1095, which just means 0.95% carbon, with the (chrome and vanadium(?)) specifically added.

I'm pretty confident that I won't know the difference.
