SODBUSTERS... bust 'em out, work 'em hard and show 'em off

My latest Sod Buster, a bit of a more unknown one. A wood handled liner lock version. I already had one like this, but it had been used and the etch was gone. This one is in fantastic shape with the Alyeska blade etch.

That’s pretty cool. I like the blade etch. Looks to be in great shape, too.

The fit and finish on the original pinned version is ok, not great. The newer version has better fit and finish, and is slimmer. I don’t love the screws, and think it would be nice if they were sunk in the scales for a flush feel, but hey, it’s a budget knife. The blades on both are thinly ground and came razor sharp.
Very well said Barrett . The Maserin is one of the knives that I use a lot when I want to do some dirty work .

I carry the Maserin and Sudbuster with long lanyards to make them easy to get out of my pockets and have no qualms about using either one but it seems like I grab the Maserin when dirt is involved . Lower cost and I actually like the blade shape better .

Interesting...
I see they kept the hole in the blade and raised the price quite a bit.
I love Case knives for their value, but if they are going to start charging that much for a single blade knife, they better get their QC really dialed-in.

It’s a price increase but that is also a buffalo horn model which was one of the most expensive Sod Busters in stainless. Most of the stainless buffalo horns were usually around $85

The Maserin just arrived today. (I think the rosewood is also by Maserin, but it's etched "Stanley".)
I guess the Case broad point has won me over some. I was thinking the Klaas is too pointy to be a sodbuster. I love the AGR on the right, but it's a pretty free interpretation of the pattern.

First Sodbuster style knife Ive owned. Swapped the stainless blade for carbon from a yellow handled version and I look forward to abusing it as need arises. The yellow handled versions are getting the stainless blades and will be used as tackle box knives.
