I will wear that tag with pride!! So what now? Start posting pic's, or just general how now sog posts? I really do have a bunch of sog fixed and folders. They were the company that got me into collecting and using good knives. Once I bought my tiger striped seal pup it was off to the races. I used that knife for everything and it kept on performing.. Anyway's,, good to be here. Thanks

Thank you for my official SOG DOG #69! I am going to put together all my SOG's and post some pics soon! Have some pretty cool ones! Glad there are finally some SOG enthusiasts in this forum! Most members just rip them apart! I truly feel SOG puts out a great product! Haven t let me down yet! Maybe I could arrange some kind of SOG give away soon to a lucky SOG DOG?!

Yes, we could arrange a contest with a 'Give-away' prize, if you are interested in donating
a SOG product to the SOG's DOGs as a prize. Such a generous act would be greatly appreciated I'm sure, but I cannot ask you to do that, but if you want to do so, it will be appreciated & noted. SOG's DOGs contests, however, MAY NOT involve any acts which would otherwise void the warranty of any SOG knives or products used in said contest, due to the fact that if something SHOULD go wrong & someone break an item, it would be sad if the act voided that person's warranty thusly leaving them with a broken knife or tool & nothing to show for it.

But, yes, if you are interested in donating an item, it will be put up as a contest prize, into
which ALL SOG's DOG's members with the exception of myself, may enter at their own choice. As the head of SOG's DOG's I cannot enter contests, it would not be fair to the other members & if I won it could be viewed as favoritism & thus I cannot be allowed to compete. Official judges for SOG's DOG's contests have already been hand-picked, these members know whom they are--there is a total of three judges, one, of course, being myself. Also, Striderco, as the donator of the prize, you will too be exempt from the competition. However, as you seem to want to provide a prize, you may set-up the contest & devise & design it all yourself--just don't make it complicated plz, LOL!
However, as a SOG's DOG, you must follow the rules--i.e. the contest may not involve any actions which would void the competitor's warranties (no one would want to participate then :D LOL!)

Again, neither myself nor the other two judges may compete--there MUST be three judges--a third to act as tie-breaker. Judges, including myself, MAY however submit entries for fun
but not for competition (just for bragging rights & boasting!). Striderco, if you wish to donate a prize, please understand that it will be appreciated, but no one will pressure you to do so, if you do not wish to do so, it is fine--we will understand & no one will think any less of you for it. Participants of SOG's DOG's contests must provide either photographs or video-footage of their performance in the contest. Striderco, if you need assistance in developing a contest please feel free to message me, my email can be found in my profile.
Again, if you do infact decide to provide a prize, it will be both greatly appreciated & noted.

I'd say that depends on what kind of giveaway it is. Most commonly these things on here are done by random drawing, so no reason it can't be open to everyone.....including you.
No reason to penalize yourself for being #1. :D

Might be different if it is some kind of competition.
I'm curious to see what kind of reaction there is to the existing contests.

I've always wanted a SOG and now I have one. I'd like to join the SOG DOGs if I may. I have a SOG Mini Tac Auto. It's one of many to come (money providing). I've been a fan of SOG for many years now ( I'm 39 now) and now I have a place to call home. Thanks. I'll take whatever number you give me. Edit (#39) would be Great.

I think a drawing would be a nice start. Write down everyone's tag number (except mine),
put it in a bowl, he could close his eyes, reach in, & pick one :). Ya know? that'd be cool!

That could work.
A seperate thread might get more attention.
You could use the message # as the entry...some may not be interested and thats a pretty common way of doing the giveaways. Lots of random number generators online, so mimimal labor involved.

Still don't see any reason to exclude yourself from a drawing being done by another member, but thats your call.

Basic question...do you want to limit it to DOGs or is it open to anyone?
Kind of a mute point, ain't like it takes a lot of effort to become a Doggie. :D

I'm looking forward to getting more Sog items in the near future. My major reguest of Sog would be; please provide a kydex sheath option for ALL your fixed blades, as kydex makes it so much easier to carry a fixed blade in a discrete fashion. Having said that, Sog leather sheaths are just about the best looking I've ever seen.
I'm happy with whatever number you care to issue.

Sog's Dogs! Send me friend invites--LOL--too many of you for me to invite one-by-one.. :D
C'mon dogs! Bring the pack closer! Friend invite one another as well. Make it easier for me to keep track of how big the pack grows too. Man it's alot of work back-tracking through posts to find everyone! LOL! It's alot harder than you guys think..believe me. I'm here everyday doing this. :D I'm not complaining, it'd just make it easier if you guys send a friend-invite, plus, I ask the same of all future SOG's DOGs. It's a request, nothing more :).

I believe we have almost 30 members now, including myself! We're growing! Current Goal:50.
Hopeful goal:100. Wishful thinking (LOL) 500.....if it ever grows that big I'm appointing helpers!! LOL! C'mon guys--I'm still sick..worse even..but I'm hanging in there for you guys, I'm not going anywhere! I'll not let it drag me down.. Ugh..I'm somehow even managing to get my training in everyday..how I don't know..:P But right now I'm managing this pretty well. I won't give up. I started this, I'll do everything I can to keep it going, & to keep my SOG's DOGs together & happy..no matter how hard I must work to do it. Dedication. :)

Striderco, SOG's DOG #69, please, when you are ready for your drawing or contest to begin, please post the details in Fal'er's thread, SOG Contests--it will be more easily recieved there,
he was right..the contests need their own thread, fortunately he saw that & took care of it! :) Whenever you are ready, it will begin. It's entirely up to you, I simply ask you follow my basic rules--Only SOG's DOG's compete or draw, allow for two-weeks if a contest (giving all members a chance). I ask to be excluded (I have prior club experience, & it is never a welll-accepted for the Head to win..learned that one from experience.) Allow ANY SOG's DOG's, Old & New to play. If you do a contest, require photo or video proof. Must use SOG products of
some sort. If you do a drawing, ALL SOG's DOGs but me should be allowed to enter. If you do a contest, there will need to be Judges--your contest, so you, too, should be a judge, & myself (as I do not enter), & one other (as I do not know all of whom have or have not the equipment to compete) someone can simply volunteer (there must be three--an odd number,
so that there can be no ties) (I will not push anyone to step up :P). Striderco, if it's a contest you wish, then feel free to choose the third judge--provided he or she wishes to take it up.

I'm not trying to boss anyone around, however, I am Head of SOG's DOGs, & I must maintain order & fairness for all members. It is one of the many duties of being the Alpha DOG..& it is not a pleasant one--I do not want anyone to feel left out or mistreated or disrespected. Striderco, it is YOUR giveaway, it is YOUR drawing or YOUR contest--I am simply here to help guide you, & maintain fairness for the SOG's DOGs. I do not & will not step on your toes. I believe this give-away of yours will be extremely good for the SOG's DOGs, & some lucky DOG will be getting something nice I'm sure & I hope the winner accepts his or her price gracefully & graciously, SOG products are not inexpsensive, please, everyone give keep that in mind, & bes ure to thank Striderco for his considerable generosity! I, for one, thank you Striderco! It's a very kind & generous offer. Striderco, please, when you are ready for your contest or drawing to begin, send me an email or message atleast 2-3 three days in advance so that we may decide on the final details..
