I really do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for our work. Turnout like this is very humbling, but I also know this can be frustrating for people. We'll do a few more of these and if people aren't getting what they need I will open a pre-order for you.
You rock, Nathan. Thanks!I really do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for our work. Turnout like this is very humbling, but I also know this can be frustrating for people. We'll do a few more of these and if people aren't getting what they need I will open a pre-order for you.
My favorite part is, limiting everyone to only one knife. So they don't sell out too quick.115 posts, 10 seconds, forum record. Pay attention, twinkle toes.
My favorite part is, limiting everyone to only one knife. So they don't sell out too quick.yes we wouldn't want that to happen.

Whoopie-Doo, and the same people who figured out how to do keystrokes and mouse clicks in in under a second will win Again and Again! Seems fair,,, NOT.I really do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for our work. Turnout like this is very humbling, but I also know this can be frustrating for people. I saw it. "A few more of these" means I sit at my computers every few weeks and get beaten by those who've somehow mastered split second keystrokes. BTW, tech savvy folks can easily automate the keystrokes and clicks into a function that'll do it in a fraction of a second. I thought of doing this myself, but too much effort. Down the road I might get added to a pre-order list and wait another year for that. Cool. One fair method would be have people post at 3 pm that want a knife and close this at 3:05 or other cutoff. Then, have random lottery drawing from this pool every 3 weeks. Those who win a lottery would be excluded from subsequent lotteries. The current system seems inherently biased , but that's only my opinion.Did you miss the pre-order part?
So to clarify, you are complaining about:I saw it. "A few more of these" means I sit at my computers every few weeks and get beaten by those who've somehow mastered split second keystrokes. Yeah, it's pretty cool.I love it when strangers come in and tell you how you should conduct your own business.
So to clarify, you are complaining about:
1. Not being fast enough to score on a Friday sale.
2. Not being willing to put in the effort to automate your Friday score with a computer macro function.
3. Not being patient enough to wait for a preorder knife spec'd to your preference.
Well OK then.
Personally, I have never used any technical assistance, I just have my work computer set up to read show the time to the second, while my personal computer is logged on to the For Sale by Maker: Fixed Blades subforum. I have the window tiled to minimize mouse movement distance, set my cursor on the first non-stickied thread, hit F5 to refresh as soon as the time hack hits 15:00:00 Eastern, click the new top non-sticky thread, which will always be the CPK sale thread at that time, then use my mouse scroll wheel to zip to the bottom of the thread, add a single character to the box and click the "Post Reply" button less than half an inch from the the text box, and boom. Do I score all the time? No. But pretty reliably.
Zero hacks, zero cheats, zero computer program assistance, just a post-it note stuck to my screen where the Post Reply button will be when I scroll to the bottom of a thread.
