I just picked up this Blur in a trade and I have about $18 total in it and it's a 440C blade but it's solid as a rock on lockup for this price range I've become a Kershaw fan too.

Very nice pickup!
I really like my budget Kershaw. Super sharp too. I was very surprised.

I would still opt for the Byrd or Victorinox knives I mentioned earlier. The Byrd Meadowlark has a solid, easy to use lock in a proven knife design (Delica). Vic? Well, the quality is simply there.

"Solid $20 knife?"....This should be a fun, constructive forum topic, but it has turned into nothing but a bickering match. Arguing over manufacturing origins and trivial details in no way adds meaningful discussion to the topic the OP wants information for.

Back to the topic...
My five votes are:
1) Sanrenmu 7010

2) CRKT Drifter

3) Kershaw OSO Sweet

4)Kershaw Amplitude 2.5

5)Buck Vantage Select

P.S.- Some of these knives are slightly over $20, but none exceed $25. I hope this helps in your search for a good budget knife.

Before scolding forum regulars I suggest reading all relevant forum rules and removing links to non-BFC dealers.

Links have been removed. Thanks for pointing that out. You can justify bickering all you want, but I could careless how long someone has been on BF. Quality over quantity...what I mean by that is this: The number of posts does not represent maturity. If the posters fight like my four kids, then I'll point out my disinterest.

Well, that Kersaw is just a re-branded HARNDS Nyx without serrations...

I love mine, have two of 'em, abuse them like there is no tomorrow. I do that with all my Chinese folders.

Like my ENLANS and Ganzos. But there definitely is an important difference between these:

Even though the place of origin is the same, or the price point is very similar.
As with everything in life, you just have to choose wisely. YMMV, and your budget might be very different to others', so pick a choice accordingly. Good luck!

The Ganzo knife I have is really well made too. Though, I did have to take it apart and do about 5 minutes worth of polishing.

The information the OP learned was very valuable. He found out that some of the knives he was looking at were knockoffs and ripoffs and he does not want to support such practices so he now knows not to buy those knives. Sure there is a little bickering now and again but ultimately the OP learned valuable information. Plus, a mod put an end to the bickering :)

On topic, looking at some of the byrd knives I think they could be another good value option. I hadn't really considered them until this thread. With them you also get backed up by spyderco which says a lot and adds a lot of value.

You're absolutely right. I always enjoy listening to the thoughts and expertise of other knife collectors. On topic of budget-friendly knives, I have enjoyed all of my Kershaw knives. The Kai corporation makes some of my favorite knives, but be careful with your first quality budget knife...it opens the door to VERY expensive, but very fun hobby.😄 Good luck hunting!

Did the OP land on anything yet? Maybe I missed it. If not, I'll throw out one more that I haven't seen. If you look around a bit you can find the Kershaw Thermite just over the $20 mark. I've given a number of them as gifts and think they are a great knife for the price. I think the original MSRP was over $50. A little larger than many mentioned, but narrow profile with deep ride clip, so they carry very well.

I second this. I love my Thermite. I love all of the Kai/Hinderer collaborations. The ZT0566 is one of my favorite daily carries. (I own three variations.) I really like a knife with a 3.25-3.5" blade. It is my personal sweet spot for blade size. The Thermite is a very close, in feel, to the 0566.

...Good call!

I'm not justifying it, I'm pointing out that those that cannot be bothered to adhere to the rules don't really have any credibility when criticizing others. Good on you for removing the links.

To each his own. But I do agree that OP has made their personal choice, so that should be that.
