SOMETHING ABOUT THE WOODS

There's something about the woods.
All alone surrounded by God's magic.
Peace and quiet in my solitare moods.
No worries, people or events so tragic.

Crisp, cool air in my lungs.
The whisper of forest breeze.
A break from climbing life's rungs.
A special time on my memory to freeze.

A paradise of contentment,
to restore my souls energy.
No worry about advancement.
Basking in nature's sweet synergy.

No more of life's fast frame.
Back in control of my time.
Each day not more of the same.
Money no issue I don't need a dime.

There's something about the woods.
Only here can real peace be found.
Not a crowded nieghbourhood,
where all is one busy loud sound.

Nothing can compare to star lit canopy.
A hot steaming cup of campers tea.
The preservation of my sanity.
I escape from life's endless sea.

I went out in the woods,
Real deep in the pines.
I fell in the bushes
And tripped over vines.

I got bit by mosquitoes
And ticks and fleas.
I have no clue where they came from.
Just help me please.

I brought home some chiggers
And some poison ivy too.
I just want to lie down.
I think I caught the flu.

I had such a rough time
Out in the pines.
They have so many problems
They should put up signs:

Watch out for the bugs
And the funny looking plants.
Next time I go out
I'm bringing a pair of pants.

I think that poetry and the like is a very personal thing. Esav posting it here was showing trust to the people he was showing it to. The discussion of whether it was supposed to be here should have taken place via PM.

I hate when I see a person make themselves vulnerable through their work and people decide to crap on that work - either directly or obliquely. The horse has been beaten - and I don't want to continue it, however, the tones taken after a bit of art was posted made me sad for Esav. I would wager it was hurtful and any discussion about appropriate place was essentially made impossible.

It reminds me of Rick's post 'The Cry of the Wild'. It could have been said that he was being a big sissy and the like. Rick posted up some honest stuff and made himself vulnerable - we respected it. That is the WS&S that I know and love.

Mod or not, rules or not, when something personal is posted - let's be respectful.

I always welcome Esav's poetry. He slightly reminds me of Gurney Halleck from Dune. Esav is a rare breed of moderator. He is a moderator/poet.
