• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Some cooking pots...

I don't think I can resist starting a collection of pots/mess kits now though. looks like great fun.

It's a sickness, like knives:D

Hey HD, just found a site that sells a stainless MUCKET:

Mucket

Scroll down a little and you'll see both the Tin and Stainless versions...

I can't remember where I saw it now, but there was a little 'review' showing how a fellow prepped his coffee cans for use as a campfire cooking pot. I think he just coated it inside and out with some kind of cooking oil and then let it sit over the fire repeatedly. I just bought a little $2 container of coffee just for the tin, to see if I could be happy with it before ordering something else.

So does anyone have a link, or have a pet way of prepping them for hard use?

S2, after pulling them out side by side, the NATO cut (Crusader cup) is a little larger and seems a little sturdier than the regular USGI. Both are stainless steel, but you can tell that the Crusader cup is a little larger

Thats perfect. Thanks a bunch man!!

This really turned out to be a great thread...thanks for all the different links and ideas!!

At one time SMG was selling 10 east german mess kits for $20. I passed on it and have kicked my ass since.
The east german mess kit inside cup has a handle.
