Even if the story is 100% true, I'd still try to sneak my blades in there for rehandling. Nothing better than linen Micarta.According to the story, it is in limited supply.
You must not have read a lot of the older "stories" behind some Busse knife designs.I don't know about that. I'm sill new 'round these parts, but my research indicates the Jerry & Co. are stand up folks. Doubt he'd make up such a story just to help sell an awesome looking handle that doesn't look anything like it's namesake. Who know? Maybe all the flak Garth and Dan threw his way for his patch job was the catalyst for the name change.

I'm just curious as I have not read many either.

If you have ever work with linen micarta you will know that they are designed to last like 100 years without problem... And I have seen some vintage micarta has more beautiful grain than the newer one tho.

Depends on what side of the wall your on..Much better than the glory hole micarta.
I had to google that and that was a pretty cool trip on the web with those old photos- And that stuff, the yellowish color, looks a lot like wood after shaping. Pretty neat old technology.Sure would love some vintage Westinghouse micarta, that stuff is beautiful!
