That's a Fine looking Knife Hawkman,

Okay, here's an order for someone who is eagerly awaiting his big bad bush beater- and his puukko necker.

it's at 80 grit on handle and spine finish in the photos. I'm tweaking the tang to 400 grit now.

This is a non ordered dagger I've been doing for a while, I like it a lot. it's a MASSIVE handle and good for large hands. With the thick tang through the handle, it manages to balance in the guard, just forward of the index finger. Pretty nice.

Messy? it's just done it's fourth linseed bath and is drying out - then it's fine sanding the tang and spine, then tung oil after that. It's messy because there's linseed oil all over.

And an order that is running way late, but I've been having trouble with a good solid, well dried piece of osage orange. Fortunately, the log in my backyard is looking like it's dry- it's been in my yard for 2 years, and it's HOT here.

But, as a langseax goes, this blade is just.... sweet :D

A small game/utility knife with a good classic shape. This one may be getting ivory. It's about 8.5 or 9 inches- not as big as the mini-boning knife makes it look. And there's a little 4 inch mini boning knife!

2 leuku pattern bushcrafters. the one without handle is on order, the one that's almost done is.... not an order!

yah, just you wait. I'm going to make some left handed sgian dubhs and put them up for sale........

So, the dagger is heavy- 1 pound 2.5 ounces. the balance is good and it's definitely a solid piece. WAY heavier than I'd normally go for, but there's no real design goal here that includes slicing taters. It feels WEIRD, because I know I could make it weigh half as much and be a perfectly functional fighting blade. All that being said, it's REALLY good for punch stabs and inverted punch stabs and such. Just screams "use me!".

The big micarta bush beater is a first custom order placed by one of the forumites and he asked for a few things I don't normally go for, but I know how to make the exposed tang rear work out well. The profile and geometry require a bit of detailed examination, it's not quite the classic spearpoint, but I think the raised belly works well for tip cuts.

The langseax is just.... I love those knives.

The small game knife is one of the 2 main contenders for a custom ivory order, the shape is pretty modern and "normal" but it's just perfect for what it is.

The mini boning knife is for fun- if you have a desire for one, then you know what you are doing with it. If not, it's kind of a specialized weird little blade. Then again, it's about as nimble as a sharppfinger when I do one of these.....

The leuku is... hey, it's a classic koyote leuku bushcrafter!

Okay, guys. Here's one I've been working on for longer than I should have. The blade is great- seriously, I hate to sound all unhumble but I do believe I Nailed the langseax as a combat blade on this one. Thor's Left Nut, it is a sweet thing to hold.

The handle gave me no end of trouble because I ran out o big enough osage orange chunks and then everyone I get osage from only had wet wood that they were drying out, and it goes on! I found a set of scales and they came in and were TOO SHORT.

So off I go into my personal private woodpile because I know I have to have somethign left from the osage bow project, right? SCORE- I did finally find a chunk, 3 years dry, to cut up. Finally:

here it is in progress- I have still to do the final shaping of the handle and guard in this photo, and then work it all down to 400 grit and start woodfinishing.

ANd now, the one that has no name. What is it? It's pretty, and it's functional, but I'm not sure what to call it. It's smaller than a regular boning knife, and about the right size for a long bladed bird and trout knife- and it's a great design for boning small game and such. It's not a filet- the blade is too thick. I'd certainly carry it hunting, which is what it's for. It's about 4 inches on the blade, and 4 on the handle.

Maybe I'll succumb to naming convention and call it a "persian hunter" - though I realyl want to call it a Gitano Gentleman!!!!! (gitanos- gypsies, carry inexpensive foldign knives that look somewhat like this when open)

There all Nice Knive's Chistof that Big Dagger Is a Beauty, But In my Eye's all your Knive's are "Beautiful !" This one I'm not sure on a Name maybe Koyote Custom's Sharpfinger Skinner ! ? I know one thing I like It ! You'll come up with a Name, Take Care And Keep Making These Beautiful Knive's !

What's the time frame? I'm trying to buy a real grinder and a bandsaw...this month, hopefully.

get a coote. unless you want real machine shop tables and angle guides and stuff, then I'd suggest KMG or the no-weld-grinder-plans.

Bandsaws are hard. I'm finding that if I'm fairly relaxed about going slow, my ridgid with the woodslicer blades and coolblocks does very good work for a 'cheap' bandsaw. I'd advise against the little tiny ryobi or whatever 3 wheel saws unless it's going to be profile cutting of thin materials- the bigger saws do MUCH better on resawing (making scales)

timeframe is- if you want one in particular, you can set the timeframe. I've got 4 blades heat treating this evening that are sgian dubhs, 2 are orders....2 aren't.
