Some Ruger 10/22 changes

Can anyone recommend a good but inexpensive peep sight set for the 10/22? Mine is 20 years old and as good as new. My eyes are 20 years older and . . . aren't. ;)

I guess price is subjective but the best sights are tech sights imo.

These are great guns, I recently bought one for my son as his first gun. It is beautiful, solid and something he can hand down to his son or daughter as their first gun.

I just got a Ruger 10/22, any body know which part to change to make the bolt open when the mag empty?

Pics! Feel free to post up pics of your 10/22, and stories/thoughts...

I was terrified you were going to say that Ruger changed things that shouldn't be changed...whew!

I am looking to get one of them again, I wonder if Williams still makes a peep sight for them, that's a small game killer...

I don't recall the bolt on mine staying in the open position on an empty magazine. I do recall being able to manually do it by pushing in on the bolt handle, straight into the bolt. You pull the bolt to the rear and then push the bolt handle straight into the bolt.

I own one and have used it to dispatch more than my share of squirrels....
Choate stock...Millet see thru scope mounts...Simmons .44 mag scope (6X fixed) 4 inch sunshade...Harris bipod...Raven Eye Custom buffer/Ti stock screw/receiver pins. More mods to come...also going to build a custom for my wife/kids. IMAG0278.jpg

I really like the tube stocks/AR pistol grip combinations. With a picatinny rail, use of good optics, reliable feed system, tons of accurate after-market mods - the 10/22 is a great small-game/target shooting platform.

I decided I wanted a 10/22 and started looking and researching. From there I got completely stupid and built this one from scratch.
Short bull barrel, threaded, Green Mountain.
