Some SAK love

So, this is my Swiza. My understanding is that it was started by Wenger employees who didn't stick around during the Victorinox merger.
I love this knife.
In fact, it's the only SAK that I ever really carry.
The main blade locks (and the release is the Swiss cross). When locked, there is some blade play, but I can live with it.
On the left is the scissors, which I think are the best multitool scissors I've ever used.
So, that's my $0.02.

Also, not pictured is the scale tool. Tweezers (but no toothpick).

I always enjoy seeing your Dutch Army knife, José! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Here's one of the 4 knives I carry EVERY day in addition to whatever my weekly rotation schedule assigns me. It's a Pioneer Solo, or, in Victorinox's new naming system, a Swiss Army 1 IIRC, that I bought with funds on an Amazon gift card my work colleagues when I officially retired almost 8 years ago. I always keep it standing in my left front pants pocket using the "safety pin trick" I learned on BF.

I have an Alox Solo in the watch pocket of my jeans everyday, usually in addition to whatever other knives I'm carrying, but sometimes it's just the Solo. Great pocket knife.

It's a great knife alright, Tyson! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
(Although if I ever found a Pioneer Settler (with pen blade on opposite end) or Pioneer Apprentice (I think that's the name for the model with a small sheepsfoot on the opposite end), I'd have a hard time sticking with my Solo for EDC, despite its sentimental value. At heart, I'm still a multiblade pocket knife guy. 🤓)

The 'missing link' between the Standard (234u) and the Spartan. Model number 5067 in the USA and 1.3600 in Europe, features scales without toothpick or tweezers, a reamer without a sewing eye, and a 4-turn fluted corkscrew, keyring attachment point on the opposite side.. dating from between 1974-1984.

It still has that snappy, solid click when opening and closing, and it only needed a scale polish and a sharpening...

You know the drill on how to find them...

In case you'd like to diversify your collection and collect brands similar to Victorinox and Wenger: there is a Spanish 'SAK' with a long-standing tradition that is easy to find on vintage marketplaces. They are even featured on the SAKWiki website..."

Aitor, the brand from the Basque Country. Here is the coat of arms of the city where its production began...

If anyone wants information about Aitor, or if you know a lot about the history of Wenger and Victorinox, I’d love to share info with you! 👍
