Some Sparkling Traditional Treasure!

So will these be Northfields with the UN-X-LD diamond? A #15 Radio Jack UN-X-LD?

You guys are killing me here! lol

These are a Diamond series SFO built on the #15 GEC frame in a deluxe version. Charlie is commisioning a "Radio Jack" and a "Harness Jack" with all the bells and whistles! LOOK OUT! These are gonna be extra sweeeet!

Hey Charlie! Put me down for a pair!:thumbup:

Aw, Duncan, you skeered me.

Skeert me too! I was worried for a second or two!!

Whew.

Agreed!

I have been using my Radio Knive (Boy's clip edition, ebony) regularly, the screwdriver in particular.

I am eagerly looking forward to these new Radio Jacks. The UN-X-LD fits so neatly in the diamond shield (which is itself so excellently evoked and echoed by Barry Johnson's etch artwork), and GEC continues to up its game when it comes to jigging.

(Quoted with picture due to the next Sparkling Traditional Treasure being produced on this same #15 frame)

Charlie, is your partiality toward a spear main specific to the ones found on the #15 frame, or more universal?

Clipster

I think it's more universal. I carried a Robeson Barlow with a spear for many years, so it's also part nostalgia. I think clips are beautiful, but I like the straighter back of the spear, and how it lays neater in my pockets. I've never noticed that either is more efficient at cutting.

Thank you guys!

You make compelling points, as do the knives already produced with spear mains on this #15 frame:

Combine elements from those last two knives, add a Diamond Shield, and we're there:

That is deserving of a very big "atta boy" there. Not only a master of knife design but also a true master of suspense.....

Can't wait to see these in the flesh.

That makes two of us, Jamie.
I am vibrating at the edge of my chair!!
Having an SFO come out is like having a baby borne!! I can't experience everything my wife ever felt, but I was certainly there and involved - hoping everything turned out well!

I see that GEC has added some pictures to their site, about the progress of the Diamond SFOs.

It's nice to see that old walnut again - my Dad would be proud (I hope!)
He had always intended to make a gunstock with it, but I think would admit, that he had enough custom rifles!
I asked for an new profile for the caplifter, for my version of the Radio knife. I was delighted when Bill took my suggestion to build a Radio knife, and now I will be able to offer this one, tweaked a little toward my old DE.
Here are some comparison shots, first the old one along with the "boy's" version.

And here's the "Tweaked" Diamond version - see the differences?

And here are the semi-finished Diamond punches. The design is loosely based on a couple of ols patents, once again, "Tweaked" by advice from a couple of custom makers that we all know and love, to provide good performance! The "lentil" at the tip is a heat sink to protect the temper!

Charlie, Looks like you left a tad more meat to the spine where the cutout is  well done sir!
I also look forward to seeing how these punches turn out. As of late, I have come to appreciate how handy a good punch blade can be to have around.

Charlie,

What will the bone color be on the Radio Jacks and Harness Jacks?

Chestnut and Bloodred Jigged bone, Jamie

Good eye on the caplifter, Duane! It may make no difference functionally, but I like it more, visually!
I am looking forward to the punches also! They should work well, and just as important, be easy to sharpen!!

Do I understand the caplifter on the newest #15's will be a bit thicker at the spine? Blood Red jigged bone? Will these be barehead or have capped bolster?

I'm ready, can't wait!

Forgive me if I missed this somewhere in the thread, but how does one get in on the upcoming HJ action? I don't have pm privileges, so I can't just contact Mr. C directly. I've been drooling over all the previous SFO's done by him, and really love the HJ pattern.

Thanks for any guidance.

Michael

Try sending him an email. Do you see an email link when u highlight his name?

No, but I'm using Tapatalk. Perhaps on the browser?...

ETA: I think that was the guidance I needed, good sir! I think (THINK) that worked. I am indebted on account of your kindness.
