Someone Explain it to me please.

A bit off topic but I feel a Ladybug is plenty of blade for most urban edc tasks. Honestly I don't see how most people are going to cut enough stuff to dull even a tiny Ladybug size blade of VG-10 or S30V in a day.

I still don't own a PM2. My lefty Millie is too large for EDC for me. I'm pretty happy with my Domino so I don't feel a need to buy a PM2 anytime soon. I like the utilitarian design, though, and if I could snag one for $96 like I saw them on sale for about a year and a half ago I'd probably pick one up.

THe PM2 just seems like the kind of knife that screams to be used. Which makes sense, function over looks.

It carries thin.

There is a lot to be said about the PM2, most of it already has in this thread. Personally, I have big hands. Not meaty but just...big. I've had Delicas, Enduras, mini-grips etc but nothing has ever combined a slim package and good ergonomics like the PM2. For garrison duty it's the only knife I carry.

Don't get one! You will hold every other knife you have to that standard. They will be hard shoes to fill.

The PM2 has become my primary duty knife. As a deputy we carry so much stuff as it is, the zt0560 was too heavy, but the pm2 just works.

I've owned four Para 2s, blue M390, grey 20CP, and two standard black/satin ones. I was thinking about why I never kept any of them for more than a few months earlier today. Para 2 is a well built and very functional knife. For me though, it was always just too "sterile". As odd as this sounds it just didn't have enough character to make me keep coming back to it. Other small fixed blades and Spyderco folders just seemed to resonate with me a lot more and still perform just as well.

JNewell nailed it; choice is good.

to be completely honest, spyderco has never been known for blade to handle ratio, because of the forward finger choil for added grip and control for precise cutting, which in turn reduces the amount of usable cutting edge on the blade, a compromise that syperco seems to be completely fine with as it is in almost all of their models, i myself have a pm2 i was hesitant at first for the same reason of a relatively poor handle to blade ratio, but once in hand you don't even notice it and the forward finger groove really comes in handy when you need it and like stated above the handle is super comfortable, so id say buy one you get a really comfortable handle with a nice blade that sacrifices some edge for extra functionality but still keeping it very capable

I carry a Delica ZDP189 clipped in my left pocket & in my right pocket I have a Para2 & in one of my Safes there are 6 Para2's
& no two are alike ~~ so you might say I like the Para just a bit.!!! lol Spyderco #1 all the way.!!!!!!
Can't wait until another comes out.**

The guys saying to handle one before you buy one are clearly onto something. Some folks are located where that isn't possible. The first time I held a PM2 was summer of 2010, shortly after they came out. Love at first touch. Later I bought the blue M390 sprint when it first came out. The lock design was improved compared with my first edition black handled one, so the blue replaced it as my work EDC. I later sold the first one to a friend since I so prefer the newer lock.

My PM2 is a great working knife, has kicked all other models out of my RFP for almost four years now. It also helped me cut (!) way back on buying folders. The big handle and robust blade allow my daily uses to be safe and comfortable. I have two pre-need replacements, don't need any more.

If you're still on the fence, do it. You'll almost certainly get your money back if you don't like it, and if you manage to score one of the sprints and don't like it you'll almost certainly turn a profit selling it. I snagged one over a year ago because my local knife store had been able to get 2 in the last couple years, and one was preordered by another customer...I just happened to be there before lunchtime on the day they got the shipment that had the PM2's (I also bought a CTS 204P sprint recently so now I have 2, and have a glow in the dark Cuscadi backspacer on my DigiCam). I knew if I didn't buy it right then and there it would absolutely be gone inside of a couple days...there's a good reason they sell out so fast everywhere (And are so blatantly faked/copied)...just a SUPERB all around knife. It's definitely in my top 3, and I've been convinced ever since buying my S30V DigiCam that the standard S30V models are the best deal on the market right now from any manufacturer. Due to the demand there's a good chance you'd even turn a profit selling a used S30V PM2 if you bought one from a reputable dealer that's high volume (Lower prices...just don't be sucked into buying a fake off eBay...due to the number of fakes and the increasingly accurate copies, stick to a reputable dealer or buy one of the sprint runs). The ergonomics are almost unbeatable, using the finger choil or holding it farther back on the handle, and the blade geometry is good for almost any task.
