I took my wife to work yesterday at 7am. Our car overheated about a block away but we made it to the parking lot. So, while I'm waiting on the tow truck I get a call from my daughter - about 8:30am. She's 14 and was left at home to sleep in.
She said someone broke in and all our stuff is missing. She goes to to neighbour's and calls 911. I borrowed a car from one of my wife'scoworkers and get home at the same time as the police.
The bastards broke in through our kitchen window and cleaned out everything in the living room including tv, dvd, ps3, & all of our presents! My daughter wasn't awakened by the break in but she's pretty shaken up but ok.

The police searched the house and sent out the crime scene tech but no prints etc. They did recommend that I cut down a shrub that had been used for cover.
That sounds like a job for The King!

I am glad you and your family are safe, but that blows.

Hopefully they catch the scumbags who did this.

I am so sorry, man. Here's hoping the thief gets what he deserves in spades. I'm glad your daughter is okay.

Damn, that sucks ! But good that your daughter wasn't hurt, material things can be replaced.

That just plain sucks man :/ I'm glad you guys are all ok tho. You need anything? If so, email me.

My daughter is ok and like y'all said everything else can be replaced. I don't need anything except maybe the names of the people that did it. But I'm afraid that will never happen.

That stinks royally. I have thorny shrubs around my windows. Perhaps you can plant some Devils Walking Stick around yours.

Sorry about the missing stuff and the sense of safety that's gone now. Glad your daughter's OK, though. I've been in that situation myself many years ago when I was a child.

I do hope they get the thief quickly and you can get some sense of justice from that. It won't help replace the stuff that's gone, but your daughter's safety and good health on Christmas morning could be the best present ever. I had a 12 YO friend that woke up with an intruder in her house and he cut her throat. Very glad nothing happened in your daughter's case.

Not sure what devils walking stick is but it sounds badassed. My brother recommended planting a Mesquite tree but they get too big and would mess up the foundation in a couple of years. I'll check with our nursery to see what's available.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah....that sucks... I hate thieves, bullets are too good... too bad you couldn't use that BK9 on them.... bastards...
Glad your daughter is safe though... most important thing

I had a similar experience. Except that my daughter had let some of her "friends" in... they broke into my bedroom (I was a single dad then, and kept my room locked) and stole part of my knife collection when she wasn't looking (a couple distracted her, the others broke into the room). When I got home, and she found out I had been robbed she gave them up. They were just kids so I had a talk with their parents. Got my knives back, and told the parents that if they had been 18, I would have prosecuted them to the fullest, or if I had caught them in my home... well.... the police would have been the last of their worries. That was over 20 years ago.

Thieves are shit

Dale - your not helping. I'm still trying to act like this wasn't a big deal for my daughter's sake. But I know how this could have gone and its really f'ing with me and my wife. I know you're trying to be supportive but please hold off on telling me about anyone that was seriously harmed during a break in. It makes it harder than it already is.

Damn man, that sucks big time. Sorry to hear that. Glad everyone's okay. My Christmas wish is that they'll get caught, and thrown in a cell with a 6'9", 400 lb man named "Bubba", that thinks they're cute. ;)

i'm sorry too hear that, glad everyones ok!! and i hope the catch the S.O.B.'s!!!!

Merry Christmas right? Totally sucks man, hope the crackheads get caught. Does your homeowner's insurance cover theft?

With a few choice tattoos and open sores all over his body. Can't forget those.
