Sons of bit**es

Well, this just plain SUCKS !!! I hope they do catch them. But here is my .02 cents---I would bet money that it is someone you know & who has been in your house recently & saw the presents under the tree. If not people you know, then people someone else in the family knew. Maybe not, could be random, but i doubt it. Sounds like you were staked out & they were watching you, then made your move when you left. I am glad your daughter slept through it, if she had awoken & surprised them, it could have been a VERY different outcome. Merry Christmas bud. Be thankfull for what you DO have & the outcome was not worse. Glad your family is safe.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Someone I know or at least someone in my neighborhood. I mean how many breakins occur between 6:45am & 8:45am on a Saturday morning?
My wife and daughter are both a little jumpy. And my wife keeps telling me to cheer up.
I hope seeing my nieces and nephew tomorrow will cheer me up. I've been keeping myself busy all day. Mostly outside stuff like splitting firewood and taking out that shrub. Plus a couple of last minute trips ti wally world for my wife.
Right now I've got a set of the tan BK-16 scales dying. I'm not sure how long to let them sit but I'll check them at about 20 minutes. Pics when they're done.

Done!:D

Christmas is not ruined!
I still get to see my mom, all three brothers, all of my nieces & nephews, & my brother's grand daughter. She's a peach.

Everyone is ok, physically & we'll get all of our stuff replaced eventually. I might even get the 60" LED that I have been wanting. :D

EXCELLENT POST! I am glad you realize what the true importance of CHRISTmas is and have your priorities in order. Glad everyone is alright. Its sad that people do that this time of year (or any time for that matter) I dont live in the best neighborhood, so tomorrow Im setting up my mini camcorder in the living room while we are gone all day. This will serve two purposes. It will record anyone trying to break in and answer an age old question. What does my dog do all day while Im gone and does he really sit and look out the window the whole time?:D Unless what they took adds up to ALOT, I wouldnt claim it on your homeowners insurance. Insurance is only affordable til you make a claim:D Id definetly go the self-investigation route myself. Good luck. Enjoy time with your family and have a Merry CHRISTmas and a safe and fun New Year.

Sorry to hear this! It really peeves me off when thieves strike around Christmas time.

I hope you find a measure of peace and joy this Christmas, even though your home was violated by strangers. I also hope that your thieves break into a house with 3 hungry pitt-bulls and they get a few teeth lessons to set them straight.

Just a bump in the road. I just want my wife and daughter to feel safe and stop asking me "what's that noise" every time one if our dogs jumps off a bed or hits his tail on the wall.
But on the bright side the storm just knocked out our power so well probably be heading out to my mom's house earlier than planned.
My mom makes the best tamales & if we get there early enough I might get a cup of hot chocolate. My brothers are known to leave nada en la tasa. :D
House is getting cold- time to build a fire.

Your daughter is safe. Period. Nothing else matters. Hug her extra tight, she will need it!

Merry Christmas to your family,

Nathan

good to hear the family is OK -- bummer about losing stuff followed by losing power.
if you have S/N's for the electronics, or at least make and model #'s, add them to the police report.
Every week pawn shops turn over copies of the tickets for all purchases and pawns - specifically so the cops can look for stolen goods.

This obviously wasn't the Christmas morning that you and your family were hoping for. At least your daughter wasn't harmed. Things could have really been a lot worse. Hopefully the cops will catch these guys and be able to recover your stuff. Have a Merry Christmas all the same.

Man, that's some straight up B.S. It can't be said enough: Family is all that matters, Thieves are the lowest form of sub-human garbage and when it comes back around-it REALLY comes back around. Merry Christmas from my family to yours.

And now it's SNOWING!!!! It rarely snows in Dallas and never on Christmas! If we get more than an inch or two I'm callin' in tomorrow. That's how we roll down here!!!!

Even grown ups get a snow day!!!

She's 14 and was left at home to sleep in.

Dude, this is scary as hell. I will no longer be leaving my daughter at home when we go to the gym....I'm glad she was safe and that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. This is a lesson for all of us fathers with daughters. I have 4.

Wow! I have to say you handled that a lot better than I would have.
My 2c. Your child is safe, thank god! The rest are just material possessions.
Suggestion: get a dog :D

Wow, as a father of two teens all I can say is thank God your daughter is alright- that is number one, everything that was taken is just stuff. Hope ya'll still able to pull a Merry Christmas from this somehow, that is the only way to beat the B@st*rds. Not sure if you've considered this; if you know anyone who is a hooked on something in the neighborhood- or their son or daughter- that would be a place to start looking. A lot of 'junkies' will case a joint for someone else to actually pull the job on. I know that is no comfort, but maybe a place to start looking. Merry Christmas and I sincerly hope you and your family have a much better New Year!

I've got 5 dogs! :) Unfortunately three of them were in the backyard & the other two were in my daughter's room. Our "guard" dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He's about 95lbs. of Badass but he can't unlock the door and let himself in.

So sorry to hear about that man, I've got a little girl with another kid on the way and we had a situation not quite as scary but one where we felt like someone had been in our home that shouldn't have been. The kind of people who do things like that don't last long in this world. Glad to hear you guys are okay and didn't let it ruin your Christmas.

P.S. Sweet dye job on the scales.
