Willgoy, I can't say I've ever had to or tried to describe to a non American what the freedom our country fought for means to us. Without being here, it's a moot point. No one said anything about expecting "propagandist tracts" of any sort. Again, this is not a political discussion area, so I will refrain from delving any deeper into the "global arena" on religion. Suffice it to say that most folks are tolerant of suchnthings, and don't take such a hardline binary stance of criticism on such trivialities. If you are secure in your own beliefs or lack thereof, then that is terrific. Again as I indicated before, I think we have a lot more important matters to preocupy ourselves with. What I find absolutely jarring is how some folks react so viscerally to a simple sheet of paper, and don't take the efficient route of disposal but rather the complex route of offense.

Rev – my problem, is that sending his religious views, in writing, is intrusive– an intrusion upon something that is VERY personal – I do NOT want unsolicited advice for anyone – and I certainly don’t want unsolicited religious advice from somebody I’m buying pocket knives from – i don’t need anybody saving my soul

I am with the op. If I want to be part of any such religion I will go to a church myself and get information. I don't appreciate people trying to push their beliefs on me. How would they feel if I sent them a pamplet to support satan?

I am as un religious as they come, so just do what I would do, throw it out and move on, plain and simple! No reason to get all bent out of shape!

I have ordered stuff from other places that load the box with coupons, free offers, to join their "saver" clubs, etc... Do those bug you also?? Just curious!

I'm a repeat SSK customer and have gotten those pamphlets with my orders.

I even read one of them and can report that nothing happened to me....

Now that was funny. I was once warned by my wives family who are southern baptists if I read the jehovah witness pamphlets, and talked with them... it would doom me. Ironically, I was also warned when I got the free book of mormon and read it...... I would be doomed to hell, so far neither has happened. I enjoy learning others religions. Its harmless and interesting.

I could care less what religion someone is or isn't. I'm in the deep south bible belt. Ya can't get any further south than florida. That said religion is a personal issue, imho, but having said that if one wants to promote their beliefs so be it as long as it isnt in my face. Puttng a pamphlet in a box is not in ones face.

This is easy if ya don't like the owner handing over pamphlets show him your dislike and don't buy from him again. Otherwise toss the bible stuff in the trash, and everyone is happy.

I've dealt with them before and have been happy with their service, i got one of those pamphlets too, they can do as they please it doesn't bother me, as long as they do good as a dealer.

They are good people. I scored a hard to find Microtech from them at less than anyone else had it listed for.

I don't think its any different than certain movies or TV shows or anything trying to share their beliefs with us. We are getting tons of messages from businesses everyday, some are more obvious than others.

Per "albeit not very competitive", that has not been my experience. I just checked one knife between Sooner and one of the competitive BladeForums dealers...$119 at Sooner $139 on the BladeForums dealer (prices have shipping added in). Good service, good prices, a human who knows his stock answers the phone...I don't know about you, but I can handle a little bit of harmless proselytizing for a good deal, delivered on time by an honest purveyor.

His tracts are not the "hater" type. They don't bash catholics, jews or muslims, they are informative with the thought being they are to help you.

Fair enough, I respect your position and that of the others that posted in this thread. I will simply say that we can all amicably agree to disagree. Nutti'n wrong with that, and no hard feelings meant towards anyone. ;)
Have a good week everyone.

I would also boycott a store if they would send religious nonsense with my order. Keep that stuff to yourself.

I don't see how sharing a Christian pamplet is in any way 'intrusive'. simply discard it, no intrusion what so ever. I personally don't see anything wrong with someone sharing Christian values. Nothing about the Christian religion is negative, actual descent Christians want to share something very precious to them with you. Very selfless. They, and yes this includes me, value your life and you as a person reguardless of what you choose to believe. We never intend to offend, We feel as though we are sharing something priceless with you. I'll save my political soapbox for when it is needed lol
